<p>Grammy-winning singer Chappell Roan has been barred from performing at one of Rio de Janeiro’s biggest music events after pro football player Jorginho Frello said that the singer’s security team allegedly spoke in a manner that was ‘extremely aggressive’ towards his wife Catherine Harding and their 11-year-old daughter when they were dining at a hotel in São Paulo for <em>Lollapalooza Brasil</em>. </p><p>In his Instagram story, Jorginho detailed the alleged incident. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2026/2/10/chappell-roan-leaves-talent-agency-after-ceo-named-in-epstein-files-1738"><strong>READ: Chappell Roan leaves talent agency after CEO named in Epstein files </strong></a></div><p>“I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today. My wife is in São Paulo for <em>Lollapalooza Brasil</em>. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited. She even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire,” Jorginho wrote pertaining to the artist as Chappell. </p><p>“By coincidence, they&#x27;re staying at the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her,” he continued. </p><p>“And the worst part is she didn&#x27;t even approach her,” he added. “She simply walked past the singer&#x27;s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone.” </p><p>He then directly tagged Chappell and added in all capital letters: “WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION.” </p><p>In response, Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to announce that the singer would no longer be welcome at the city’s <em>Todo Mundo no Rio </em>festival, which will be headlined by Shakira this year.  </p><p>“I want to say that as long as I&#x27;m in charge of our city - this girl @ChappellRoan will never perform at <em>Todo Mundo no Rio</em>! I doubt Shakira @shakira @Shakira_Brasil would do that! Some netizens called for a more thorough review of the alleged incident, noting that both sides should clarify details, especially given that a child was involved. Others questioned the mayor’s decision to bar Chappell from the festival, urging officials to verify the situation before taking further action. </p><p>As of writing, Chappell has not publicly responded to the allegations or the mayor’s statement.  </p>
