<p>Team Liquid Philippines has finally broken its silence following the departure of Kiel Soriano, popularly known as Oheb, just before MPL Philippines Season 17.</p><p>“To our fans, We hear you. A lot of you are frustrated, confused, and feel like you&#x27;ve been left in the dark. That&#x27;s fair. We owe you better. We have been so focused on winning, but somewhere in that process, we stopped bringing you along for it. You should have heard from us sooner. He was never being replaced or moved to a different country. He is an exceptional player, and we would have been proud to have him on the roster,” they clarified.</p><p>The team revealed that they were allegedly only informed in early February 2026 that he wanted to leave the organization.</p><p>“On February 2, Oheb informed management for the first time that he wanted to step away from competitive play. There had been no earlier conversations about this. No warnings, no transition discussions. We offered to support him through the retirement process, the way we have with players before, and explained that a retirement transition usually takes one season so the player, the team, and the league can all be protected. We concluded that he required time to think,” they said.</p><p>They said they attempted to communicate with Oheb but received no response, leaving them with very little time to find a replacement.</p><p>“In the days that followed, we reached out repeatedly. We did not get a response. On February 6, we received our last direct communication from him, a formal request to resign. Assuming there was no other collaborative way forward, this gave us five business days to find a replacement. No team is prepared for that,” they explained.</p><p>The team emphasized that this constitutes a breach of contract and that they are taking legal steps against the decorated esports star. “We will not go further into the details of what happened. It included a statement from Calleja Law confirming that he had formally resigned on February 6. The post also clarified that reports of a lack of communication were allegedly inaccurate.</p><p>“For clarity, Mr. Kiel Calvin &#x27;Oheb&#x27; Soriano formally submitted his resignation from Team Liquid Philippines on 06 February 2026. Ang daming memories. Ang daming panalo. At ang daming pangarap na natupad. Habang buhay akong magiging thankful sa suporta at pagmamahal niyo sa Filipino Sniper,” he said.</p><p>He also mentioned that he needed to take a break and reflect.</p><p>“Sa ngayon, pakiramdam ko kailangan ko munang huminto saglit. Hindi dahil tapos na, pero para mag-reflect at pag-isipan ang mga bagay-bagay. Hindi siya madaling desisyon, pero alam kong ito yung kailangan kong gawin sa ngayon. Maraming salamat sa pagsuporta niyo sa bawat laban.
