<p>MANILA — Anne Curtis on Saturday afternoon spoke about the inappropriate remarks made against her by Quezon City 4th District Rep. Jesus &quot;Bong&quot; Suntay this week, saying she refuses to accept the lawmaker’s “non-apology” and that she will seek legal advice on the matter. </p><p>“I do not accept your non-apology. But I also will not carry this as a personal wound,” Curtis said in an Instagram post. </p><p>“I will be seeking legal advice and will consider all my options looking forward,” she said. </p><div><br/></div><div><iframe class="instagram-media instagram-media-rendered" id="instagram-embed-2" src="https://www.instagram.com/p/DVkxy_QkTGk/embed/captioned/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=540&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fod2-workbench-web.abs-cbn.com&amp;rp=%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A2%2C%22os%22%3A15865679.4%7D" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="987" data-instgrm-payload-id="instagram-media-payload-2" scrolling="no" style="background:white;max-width:540px;width:calc(100% - 2px);border-radius:3px;border:1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219);box-shadow:none;display:block;margin:0px 0px 12px;min-width:326px;padding:0px"></iframe></div><script async="" src="//www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script><div><br/></div><p>In a House panel deliberations last Tuesday, Suntay defended Vice President Sara Duterte’s past statement that she &quot;imagined” herself “cutting&quot; the head of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. by saying he experienced having “desire” upon seeing Curtis in public, but he could only “imagine” what could happen.</p><p>Curtis said her name was “disgustingly used without my consent, in the wrong context, and more importantly, without an ounce of respect.”</p><p>She said she was “hurt, disturbed by how perverted it was, and angry.”</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/4/suntay-urged-to-issue-public-apology-following-remarks-on-anne-curtis-0030">Suntay urged to issue public apology following remarks on Anne Curtis</a></div><p>“What happened to me isn’t rare. It happens to women everyday… in offices, in group chats, in rooms where men think no one is listening, or worse, in rooms where they know everyone is and simply don’t care.  </p><p>“What made this incident different is that it came from someone holding public office,” she said. </p><p>The actress, model, and host said Suntay became a “poster boy of something much bigger: a culture that still thinks it’s acceptable to talk about women this way.”</p><p>“You hold seat paid by taxpayers. Women are taxpayers. I am a taxpayer. We are not props in your commentary,” she said. </p><p>She stressed that sexual and inappropriate remarks made against women are a “hot topic” every day, and that leaders who cannot respect women “do not understand leadership at all.”</p><p>“Every time a remark like this goes unchallenged, we lower the bar for what leadership looks like.</p><p>“Every time a woman is reduced to a cheap remark by someone holding a position of public trust, and nothing happens… we tell the next generation of women exactly where they stand. This is what I refuse to accept,” she said. </p><div> </div><div><strong>‘DO NOT LET THIS PASS’</strong></div><p>Curtis urged the House Committee on Ethics not to let the incident pass, saying that “the integrity of public office depends on the standards it upholds.”</p><p>Several members of the House of Representatives have <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/4/women-s-panel-chair-wants-suntay-s-lewd-remarks-sent-to-house-ethics-committee-1932">sought an ethics investigation</a> into Suntay&#x27;s remarks. </p><p>Representatives of women’s organizations also <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/5/women-s-advocates-file-house-ethics-complaint-vs-bong-suntay-1056">filed an ethics complaint</a> against him during a House Committee on Justice meeting on Tuesday. </p><p>A women’s group also separately <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/6/suntay-faces-complaint-under-safe-spaces-act-0956">filed a complaint </a>before the Office of the Ombudsman for his supposed violation of the Safe Spaces Act, the Magna Carta of Women, and the code of conduct for public officials. </p><p>Meanwhile, Suntay’s wife, Shiela Guevara-Suntay, <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/5/-i-am-deeply-sorry-suntay-s-wife-breaks-silence-on-husband-s-anne-curtis-remark-2214">apologized </a>to Curtis and her family, saying they do not condone his husband’s analogy. </p><p>Curtis, in response, accepted the apology and said: “This is not your shame.
