<p>Karen Davila and Bianca Gonzalez joined forces on a field mission to mark the International Women&#x27;s Day on March 8.</p><p>&quot;Today, March 8 is International Women’s Day - spurred by the women&#x27;s suffrage movement, we commemorate women’s fight for equality &amp; freedom!&quot; Karen wrote in an Instagram post. &quot;My UN Women sister @iamsuperbianca &amp; I go on the ground in Virac, Catanduanes &amp; speak to women &amp; girls on the importance of Women Friendly Spaces against gender-based violence, the need for reproductive health empowerment for teenage girls and gender responsive care during calamities!&quot;</p><p>In her post, Karen shared snapshots from the said mission in Catanduanes, where they held conversations with women in the community. &quot;Meaningful trip in partnership with @unfpaph in giving women in communities a VOICE!&quot; she remarked.</p><p>The broadcast journalist highlighted the essence of women empowerment. </p><p>&quot;Hindi porke’t mahirap ang isang babae, wala siyang proteksyon at karapatan. Love you! To more field missions together,&quot; she said.</p><p>Karen was appointed UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador for the Philippines in August 2023.
