Mikey Bustos’s AntsCanada wins at the 30th Annual Webby Awards

<p>Filipino-Canadian vlogger and social media personality Mikey Bustos, also known as AntsCanada, was awarded at the recently concluded 30th Annual Webby Awards in New York City. Making sure his award-winning channel was mentioned, the YouTube vlogger made every word in his speech count.</p><div><br/></div><p>He placed his hands on his forehead as he moved them up and down before saying what it actually meant.</p><p>“That’s ant for thank you,” he shared.</p><div><br/></div><p>The crowd erupted in laughter and cheers as he exited the stage with his awards. </p><div><br/></div><p>On his official Facebook account, Mikey shared some snaps taken on the red carpet of The Webby Awards. He was wearing an ant suit and an ant cape that were designed by Sacasas and Lance Earnest Rubio, respectively. </p><div><br/></div><p>“Attending the 30th Annual Webby Awards in New York City was certainly an evening to remember. What an honour to be here! This is a win for science and us biology nerds. Ant love forever,” Mikey ended.</p><p>Fans of the vlogger congratulated him in the comment section. Other netizens expressed how they still can’t believe that Mikey and AntsCanada are the same person. </p><div><br/></div><p>Previously, Mikey was credited for discovering an ant species in the Philippines, which he found in his backyard. </p><div><br/></div><p>“After sending specimens to my myrmecologist friend Dr. Dave General, ant taxonomist from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, we were both surprised to discover that the species was Meranoplus bicolor, an ant that had not yet been known to exist in the Philippines, where I live,” he previously shared.</p><div><br/></div><p>AntsCanada has over 6.93 million subscribers on YouTube as of this writing. </p>
