Fyang Smith is setting the record straight — and defending her &quot;Mama D&quot; while she&#x27;s at it.At the Star Magic Spotlight press conference held on Thursday, May 21, the<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pbbgen112024"> Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 </a>Big Winner got candid about her relationship with veteran actress Dina Bonnevie, her co-star in the ongoing Prime Original series Love is Never Gone. When asked about working alongside one of the industry&#x27;s most famously no-nonsense veterans, Fyang didn&#x27;t just talk about the experience; she shut down the rumors, too.Speculations had been making the rounds that Dina had gotten sassy toward Fyang at some point. Fyang&#x27;s response was immediate and firm.&quot;No, never,&quot; she said. &quot;At tsaka hindi kasi nila kilala si Mommy D bilang nanay. Hindi nila kilala si Ms. D kapag walang camera. Nakakapag-judge lang naman sila kapag may camera. Pero kapag nakilala talaga nila si Ms. D nang husto, masasabi talaga nila na sobrang bait ng nanay ko talaga.&quot;She added: &quot;Depende na sa tao &#x27;yun kung bibigyan nila ng meaning. Pero one thing is for sure, sobrang bait talaga. &#x27;Yun talaga &#x27;yun.&quot;To many, the friendship between Fyang and Dina came as a surprise. Dina Bonnevie is a legend in Philippine showbiz, respected, accomplished, and well-known for her exacting standards on set, particularly when it comes to punctuality. So when fans found out that she and Fyang had developed a genuinely close bond, people were surprised.Fyang explained that it started with her simply deciding to show up.&quot;Actually kami ni Mama, wala pa kaming eksena, lagi akong pumupunta sa kwarto niya para guluhin siya. Swear. Lagi ko siyang ginugulo na parang minsan pag natutulog siya, yayakap lang ako,&quot; she said, laughing.And it apparently went both ways. Dina would also visit Fyang and her fellow cast members in their dressing room, where the two would just sit and talk about nothing in particular, and everything at once.&quot;Pag wala pa kaming eksena, pupunta naman siya sa kwarto namin ni Jane, nila Ate Ivana. Wala, magki-kwentuhan lang kami. Mga typical na chismisan lang na ginagawa namin ni Mama,&quot; Fyang shared.Their closeness has reached the point where Fyang feels she can open up to Dina about anything. &quot;Sobrang close kami ni Mama. As in, kaya ko nang mag-open sa kanya. Ganu&#x27;ng point ng closeness namin,&quot; she said.Fyang was honest enough to admit that it wasn&#x27;t always this comfortable between them. Like many who have heard of Dina&#x27;s reputation, she was nervous going in.&quot;Nakakatuwa. Kasi at first, natatakot talaga ako kay Mama D na &#x27;Hala, baka pagalitan niya ako.&#x27; Pero parang first day palang ng taping namin, naging close na kami. I don&#x27;t know how. Pero bigla kaming nag-click. Maingay din kasi si Mama D,&quot; she said.Dina, who has taken to calling Fyang &quot;My Little Shimpy,&quot; has also shown her affection in more personal ways. In one particularly touching moment, Dina cooked butter shrimp for Fyang despite the fact that Dina herself is allergic to shrimp.Fyang recalled the story: &quot;Nagtanong siya sa akin, &#x27;What do you want to eat?&#x27; I said, &#x27;Mom, my favorite food is buttered shrimp eh. Pero I know you&#x27;re allergic, so &#x27;wag na lang.&#x27; Nagulat ako na niluto talaga ng nanay ko.&quot;For Fyang, it was one of those small gestures that meant everything.Beyond the friendship, Fyang said working with Dina has also shaped her as a professional. The biggest lesson? Be on time.&quot;One thing na natutunan ko kay Ms. D talaga is &#x27;yung you have to be on time. Kailangan talaga. Mahalaga kasi kay Ms. D &#x27;yung one minute. Kung calltime mo 11, dumating ka ng 11:01, you&#x27;re still late. Kasi hindi ka dumating on time. &#x27;Yun &#x27;yung one thing na tumatak sa akin kay Ms. D na be on time,&quot; Fyang said.She took that lesson to heart, understanding that punctuality is not just about following rules but also a form of respect.&quot;You have to respect &#x27;yung time ng iba na dumating on time. And at the same time, &#x27;pag ginawa mo &#x27;yun sa kanila, babalik din naman sa&#x27;yo &#x27;yun.
