<p>Anne Hathaway revealed that she was &quot;legally blind&quot; in one eye for ten years due to early-onset cataract. </p><p>In an interview on <em>Popcast </em>of The New York Times<em>, </em>the actress opened up about her eye condition and how it affected her vision from the age of 30 to 40.</p><p>&quot;This is maybe too much information. I was half blind for 10 years,&quot; she disclosed.</p><p>Anne shared that the cataracts severely affected the vision in her left eye. &quot;It impacted my vision so much that I was basically legally blind out of my left eye. And I wound up getting surgery and I didn&#x27;t realize how bad it had gotten until I could finally see the full spectrum.&quot;</p><p>The actress added that she later realized how much the condition had been affecting her overall well-being. &quot;I&#x27;ve calmed down since then. I didn&#x27;t realize it was actually taxing my nervous system.&quot;</p><p>Anne also reflected on how the experience made her more grateful for her eyesight. </p><p>&quot;I appreciate vision because I literally feel like every day, I wake up and I get to see the way that I do, it&#x27;s a miracle. I actually am like, &#x27;Oh, two generations back, that wouldn&#x27;t have been an option for someone like me.&#x27; So, I actually do feel very connected to that kind of a miracle,&quot; she remarked.</p><p>According to Mayo Clinic, cataract is &quot;a clouding of the lens of the eye, which is typically clear. And so Andy has the closet of someone who worked at Runway in her 20s and then had a job where she traveled all over the world where there are consignment shops. So, Andy&#x27;s been shopping consignment and so she looks cute and her choices are expensive and they&#x27;re curated for her, by her. And I think Andy lives at the corner of like practical and fabulous,&quot; she highlighted. </p>
