He and his younger brother Eldrew dominated the floor exercise event at the 2026 Asian Gymnastics Championships in Zunyi, China, capturing two of the three podium spots.</p><p>Carlos scored an impressive 14.700 points to clinch the gold medal, while Eldrew secured the bronze with a score of 14.300.</p><p>In February, Carlos received the Philippine Sportswriters Association Athlete of the Year Award alongside Filipino tennis star Alex Eala. He received the award on his birthday.</p><p>&quot;Naka-inspire po na mas galingan, mas magsikap sa mga susunod na tourney po,&quot; the Olympic champion remarked following the awarding ceremony.</p><p>He went on: &quot;I’m just really happy and proud. Dumadami na po yung mga Pilipino po na kayang makipagsabayan sa international [stage]. Gusto ko po na dumami pa tayo at ipakita na in yung galing ng Pilipino sa sports.&quot;</p>
