Socialite Tessa Prieto files case against ex-girlfriend, two others: ‘No more silence’

<p>Socialite and television personality Tessa Prieto has filed a case for falsification of documents against her ex-girlfriend, Angel Chua, and two other individuals earlier this week. Tei Leonardo.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/life/08/11/22/tessa-prieto-opens-up-about-split-with-husband"><strong>READ: Socialite Tessa Prieto opens up about split with husband after 26 years of marriage</strong></a></div><p>She shared a glimpse of what she did in a video, which included holding interviews with the media after she filed the case and attending an event right after that.</p><p>“Today I walked into the Department of Justice and filed my case. 💪 ⚖️👩‍⚖️🧑‍⚖️⚖️ No more silence. No more shrinking. It’s all about speaking the truth,” she wrote.</p><p>The socialite added that the process she’s undergoing is about letting the truth out and having her story heard by everyone. </p><p>“It’s about vindication. About my story being heard. About accountability. And it’s the first day of Pride Month. Pride is about truth. About choosing yourself, even when it’s hard. So today I choose truth. In the courtroom and in my life,” she expressed.</p><p>In the interview with the media, Tessa shared that she’s had enough as she wanted to clear not only her name but her family’s name as well. I have been victimized already in the past. I said I’m gonna move on with my new lover, but I said I want to make everything clear. To clear my name, to clear my reputation, to clear my family’s reputation–– it’s unfair,” she told the media present.</p><p>“All I did was fall in love, you know. So, I want to correct that. In the end of it all, what is it? It’s the legacy I want to leave behind so I really want to make sure that I do all the necessary actions [and] that I will defend myself and the truth,” she continued.</p><p>Meanwhile, her lawyer explained that the case that they filed with the Department of Justice is a countercharge, as Tessa was “falsely accused of a crime.” The socialite is reportedly out on bail on an estafa case.</p><p>“This is actually a countercharge to what happened as to our client because she was wrongly accused–– falsely accused of a crime. This is a case for falsification against three respondents in connection with the alleged document which she did not sign,” the lawyer stated.</p><p>The respondents have yet to make an official statement as of this writing. </p>
