JC Santos shares the secret to his multimedia career

<p>Currently starring in the Eugene Domingo-led PETA production <em>Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sh*t! It’s Live Sa Cheter!</em>, actor JC Santos takes on the challenge of performing multiple characters in the play’s scheduled 50 shows without an understudy, just like the other main characters of the production. In the new play written by Chris Martinez following the tradition of the hugely popular <em>Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank</em> films, JC plays a meta version of himself as a triple threat actor who is cast in Eugene Domingo’s new play idea which aims to do a modern reimagining of Aurelio Tolentino’s <em>Kahapon, Ngayon at Bukas</em>.</p><p>After celebrating his 10th year in showbiz last December with over 68 projects under his belt , JC had shared how he felt being blessed with work in multimedia in a previous social media post. </p><p>He wrote, “I never saw myself doing screen work. Kaya nag-stay ako sa entablado after that. Lumugar ako. I never even dreamed of acting for the screen kasi feeling ko pang magaganda lang ang kamera. Honestly, palaisipan pa rin sa’kin to hanggang ngayon. But I guess God and the universe had a different plan. Multimedia work is tough. It takes love — real love — to survive it. As for me, I’ve had an endless love-and-hate relationship with screen acting. Pero hey, after 10 years of playing different roles for TV and film… sana naman healthy ang relationship namin.”<br/><br/>He added: “Film and television will always be a writer’s and director’s medium. And the truth is: I’m still here because of great people who believed in what I can offer to their work. And that is enough to keep me going. To keep me inspired. So I’m still learning how to write my own material. Of course sana laging original material yung na-po-produce ko, na-po-produce namin. I’m also producing a play this month in Hong Kong. It’s titled <em>Job</em> with William Manzano. And I’m also doing something with Bart Guingona again after our play <em>Red</em>. So sana mangyari lahat siya this year or next. He also shared the secret to what seems to be an almost always busy acting career. “I’m always happy kasi I’m doing what I love eh. Just like with theater, I keep coming back. Hindi mawawala yun. Napapagod din naman ako (umiyak) pero kaya naman. Natutulog lang ako (laughs). Pero maraming darating pa.
