Eugene Domingo reveals which Pinoy heartthrobs she would love to work with in theater

<p>Proving her star power on stage this year with her current theatrical production, <em>Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sh*t It&#x27;s Live sa Cheter</em>!, which just recently announced that it has sold out all 50 of its scheduled shows, actress Eugene Domingo explained why she was thrilled to be able to bring her hugely successful film franchise to the theater this year. <span style="margin:0px;padding:0px">The first film, <em>Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank,</em> first came out in 2011 and became the highest-grossing independent film in the country during its time.</span> </p><div><br/></div><p>“Para sabihin mo na gagawin ko ulit <em>Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank</em>, is really out of this world. Because <em>Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank</em>, Like <em>Kimmy Dora</em>, from the same creator by the way, Cris Martinez, I think is my legacy. I think this is the role that has an impact, not only to the audience today, but especially yung tumanda na kasama na ng <em>Septic Tank</em>. It’s been a part of my life. And to visit again, revisit the role again of direk Euge, is something that I will not pass on. It’s Live sa Cheter!</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>In this production, Eugene and her co-stars take on the challenge of not having any understudies during its whole 50-show run. The talented actress revealed how she planned to maintain her health despite the show’s challenging requirements, which involve doing two two-hour shows every weekend. </p><div><br/></div><p>“Oh my God, vitamins, supplements, and we are studying each other’s parts. And a lot of prayers. Ngayon pa lang, I think wala ng lalakas pa sa lakas galing sa prayers. Because we like to really be blended and ako kasi as an actor, medyo selfish ako sa role ko. I really own my character in Bona, in night, Mother, in all the other plays because I want to grow with it. But God willing, hindi kami magkasakit. Si JC Santos first time din makatrabaho. So it’s so exciting, sobrang excited kami. Because it’s not only going to be very creative, it’s going to be fun. and wild, you know. First time ko makasama si JC pero hindi naman siya strange. JC is not strange to me because we’re just in one community and one faculty, one theater,” she explained. </p><div><br/></div><p>When asked which actors she would love to share the stage with someday, Eugene revealed that she has always had two Kapamilya stars in mind. “One who is really expressing his interest is Zanjoe (Marudo). Gustong-gusto talaga niyang mag-theater pero kinakabahan siya. I’m still waiting for Piolo Pascual. So yun yung mga nakasama ko kasi. It has to be open din sa napakahabang rehearsals,” she added. </p><div><br/></div><p>Although she is aware that theater tickets can cost more significantly than movies, Eugene shares why it is important for Pinoys to watch live theater and why it will always be worth the experience. </p><div><br/></div><p>“I’m conscious that the tickets are not really cheap. But if you’re going to choose one na pag-iipunan ninyo, please come to this show because this is not only fun, this is not only entertainment. I really hope marami kayong takeaway. Because we are really talking about, not only theater, but we’re really talking about our power. Our power as individuals to realize what’s happening around us. It’s about using our talent, our platform, literally, to have our own language. Like do you understand me? I understand you. Sama-sama tayo. Meron tayong pinaglalaban. This is not only hahaha, hehehe, kanta kanta. I mean, we are not limited to that. How nice it is to spend your money and every cent of that money that you save to something really worth your while. So this is it,” she explained. </p>
