Lance Carr on people using Rene Baterbonia for clout, fake news: 'Inhumane,' 'outrageous'

<p>Actor Lance Carr expressed dismay over people he believes are using the late Rene Baterbonia&#x27;s name to gain clout and create unnecessary online content as well as the continued spread of fake news.</p><p>&quot;Ang daming fake news, ang daming tao na pinagkakakitaan. It&#x27;s very outrageous. Very... I don&#x27;t know how to describe it. It&#x27;s very inhumane for me,&quot; he said in an interview held for the Viva All Star Games in Quezon City. </p><p>&quot;Just let the person rest na lang,&quot; he stressed.</p><p>While he wholly supports those who continue to call for justice, Carr believes some posts are merely exploiting the tragedy.</p><p>&quot;&#x27;Yung family, maiintindihan mo &#x27;yung family... So, nakakasama rin namin po sila mag-ensayo dati and we played na rin sa mga exhibition games,&quot; he recalled. </p><p>&quot;I really got to know the kid. Magkakilala po talaga kami,&quot; he added.</p><p>In a previous Instagram post, Carr paid tribute to Baterbonia, saying he is &quot;blessed to have shared the court with you.&quot; </p><p>&quot;The Ateneo de Davao community is incredibly proud of the legacy and glory you brought to our school and to the entire Davao region,&quot; he said. </p><p>&quot;Your impact goes far beyond basketball, and your inspiration will live on in the hearts of many.
