Nico Bolzico breaks silence on getting ‘genuine hate’ for supporting Argentina in FIFA World Cup

<p>Internet personality and businessman Nico Bolzico broke his silence as he addressed the hate comments he’s been receiving after showing his support for Argentina in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. They were the defending champions ahead of the tournament and had beaten several other favorites to win the trophy.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/2022/12/14/nico-solenn-welcome-their-second-daughter" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>READ: Nico Bolzico and Solenn Heussaff welcome their second daughter</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>The World Cup meant more than just being Argentinian for Nico, as it also allowed him to bond with his father and daughter. </p><div><br/></div><p>“The end of an era that gave us so much happiness and taught us countless life lessons. This final I had the privilege of watching it with my dad (83 years old) and the rest of my family,” he wrote.</p><div><br/></div><p>“It was also the first World Cup that Tili truly understood. We watched some matches together, like I did with my dad growing up,” he added.</p><div><br/></div><p>Nico shared several photos of his family proudly wearing the Argentina jerseys as they supported their fellow countrymen. As a football fan for several decades, the internet personality expressed how the sport means so much to them. </p><div><br/></div><p>“We love football. It runs through our veins. But we should never forget that it&#x27;s just a sport—a sport that&#x27;s meant to bring people together,” he expressed. </p><div><br/></div><p>Despite this, Nico still received “genuine hate” on social media for being vocal about the team he supports. Banter is part of football. Hate is not,” he shared. </p><div><br/></div><p>While he understood that there will be opposing opinions about the team he supports, Nico maintained it’s not a justified reason to spew hate on the fans. He then congratulated Spain for the well-deserved win and paid tribute to what could be Lionel Messi’s final match for Argentina in the World Cup. </p><p>“I agree with many of the criticisms. But that&#x27;s never a reason to spread hatred toward anyone. Spain was the better team throughout the match and fully deserved to be champions,” he ended. </p>
