<p>Veteran singer Joey Albert recalled her battle with both cervical and colon cancer and how she overcame it. Nung finally nangyari na sa akin–– actually tuwing nangyayari iisipin mo ito na ba Lord?” she said.</p><p>“Pero alam mo, dahil siguro nakita ko na yung daddy ko at tsaka ate ko, parang there was a part of me na talagang nag hahanda nalang. That’s why everyday of my life, every moment of my life, every decision I make, sinubukan ko talaga at sinikap kong gawin decision para sa kabutihan ng pamilya ko–– ng mga anak ko, asawa ko, or ng mga naniwala sa akin throughout my career,” she added.</p><p>Despite being diagnosed with cancer, Joey maintained she never questioned her faith and it actually gave her a different perspective in life–– allowing her to conserve more energy and make peace with herself.</p><p>“Nung nagka-cancer na ko, parang that&#x27;s when I realized kailangan matuto akong mahalin sarili ko na pag wala ako, wala rin naman akong magagawa para sa iba,” she shared.</p><p>“Ang tinuro sa akin, yung mga paghihirap natin, puwede nating gawing mga tulay––stepping stones–– para ipagdasal ang ibang tao. Kasi yun yung pinakamahalagang maalay natin sa Panginoon yung pain, sacrifice is the most beautiful gift we can offer to God for other people,” she explained. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/07/02/21/joey-albert-on-leaving-showbiz-it-was-very-painful" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>READ:  Joey Albert on leaving showbiz: &#x27;It was very painful&#x27;</strong></a></div><p>Joey expressed how hard and painful the journey was–– from the chemotherapy to the thinning of her hair. It was also the uncertainty that came with the battle.</p><p>“It’s also the uncertainty na of course, yes laban ka ng laban pero hindi mo rin naman talaga alam kung hanggang saan ka dadalhin nung paglalaban mo. Although, courage lang,” she maintained.</p>
