Anna Cerezo, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA -- Beaver Magtalas is set to make his acting comeback with Cinemalaya entry “Kaka Sa Yawan” (“Brothers by the River”).The coming-of-age film directed by Alpha Habon marks the Kapamilya talent’s first-ever Cinemalaya film. Magtalas took a break from his rigorous training to audition for the film, joining hundreds of hopefuls vying for a role.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/02/09/23/star-hunts-beaver-magtalas-bags-role-in-digital-series">Star Hunt&#x27;s Beaver Magtalas bags role in digital series ‘Roommate’ </a> </div>“Hindi naman sakin bago pumila. 500 something po ako ng araw na yun… I got it after a pretty long break from acting. I am thankful to be part of this,” he recalled in an interview held in Quezon City on Sunday. The actor said he was determined to make his schedule work, filming on weekends while dedicating weekdays to his P-pop training.Although preparing for his P-pop debut remains Magtalas’ top priority, he admitted he could never let go of acting. “Di ko po kaya let go acting. Sinabi ko di ko kaya bitawan. I treat it as a first love, I am happy and gusto ko magawa po. Priority ko now is P-pop pero I still want to be able to do films, kahit short, any acting projects,” he noted.The Star Hunt Academy trainee added that their training has only become more demanding as they inch closer to their hopeful debut. <div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/06/25/22/star-hunts-beaver-magtalas-makes-his-film-debut">Star Hunt&#x27;s Beaver Magtalas makes his film debut in &#x27;Genius Teens&#x27;</a></div>“Training namin is 9-5, 5 days a week during early days. Ngayon umaabot 8 or 9pm. Wala na time for love life. Focus lang sa training,” he reasoned.”  “Focus on vocal training. How to look at the camera, performing on stage. We sing and dance lahat. Iba talaga training.” Magtalas will be playing Niko, a 21-year-old from Manila, who returns to Mindoro, “the island that once broke him.”“Umalis ako para makalimot, pero bumalik din ako para tandaan lahat. Isa sa matutunan sa character is to not live with regrets,” he teased.
