<p>Bettinna Carlos opened up about the extraordinary story behind her twin pregnancy, revealing that she and her husband, Mikki Eduardo, discovered they were expecting through the rare phenomenon known as superfetation. </p><p>Bettinna gave birth to her sons, Juanito Miguel and Antonino Davide, last June 4. </p><p>In a recent Instagram post, Bettinna shared videos taken during one of her early ultrasound appointments, recalling how she was advised by her obstetrician to check for viability because of her history of ectopic pregnancy. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2026/6/30/bettinna-carlos-reflects-on-the-premature-birth-of-twin-boys-i-know-the-lord-prepared-my-heart-1714" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>READ: Bettinna Carlos reflects on the premature birth of twin boys: &#x27; I know the Lord prepared my heart&#x27;</strong></a></div><p>She recounted that the appointment initially brought relief after her doctor confirmed that the pregnancy was not ectopic. However, the ultrasound soon revealed an even bigger surprise when she learned that she would be having twins.  </p><p>Describing what her doctor saw during the ultrasound, Bettinna wrote: &quot;Upon checking, she did see another sac with a tiny circle at the bottom right corner with an even tinier part in it flickering. There was also a heartbeat already on the second embryo. This was at 6 weeks.&quot; </p><p>The actress later revealed that her twins were conceived through &quot;superfetation&quot;, which Healthline explains as &quot;a rare phenomenon where a second pregnancy occurs alongside an existing one. Another ovum (egg) is fertilized by sperm and implanted in the womb days or weeks later than the first one. Babies born from superfetation are often considered twins since they may be born during the same birth on the same day.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Our twins were not from the same egg. In fact, they were not fertilized at the same time (hence the difference in size). Google calls it &#x27;Superfetation twins&#x27;. You see, when I was young, pangarap ko magkaanak na kambal kasi cute. But when I married, I did not even think of praying for it because Mikki and I both do not have the twin gene (sorry naman, inismall ko so LORD. Pero gets, this was not the kind of desire I would really actively pray for).&quot; </p><p>The actress also said that while she had always hoped to have a son, she never imagined she would be blessed with two at the same time. </p><p>&quot;But in my heart, I really wanted to have a boy already. And I told God, &#x27;Lord sana po boy na. And then gawa kami ulit kagad sana boy ulit Lord para di malungkot yung boy at may kalaro siya. Pero Lord up to You.&#x27; And then Gummy joked in the car on the way to the mall, &#x27;Mummy, what if twins?!&#x27; Which I just ignored kasi THERE WAS NO WAY WE WOULD HAVE TWINS. Di ko talaga pinansin yung sinabi niya,&quot; she continued. </p><p>Looking back on how everything unfolded, Bettinna expressed gratitude for what she described as a miracle. </p><p>&quot;And lo and behold, we have twins and both are boys. God really did give us 2 (boys) like I prayed for and He gave them to us as twins - something I did not even pray for. What a miracle, Lord.🥹 Wala Ka talagang limit.❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for our boys.🩵💙,” she concluded.  </p><p>Following Bettinna&#x27;s post, several friends and netizens flooded the comments section to congratulate the couple on what many described as their miracle pregnancy.  </p><p>&quot;At gumawa nga sila ulit, tapos boy ulit.. 10 days apart. Miraculous! She shared that throughout the experience, she leaned on her faith as she and her family navigated the unexpected challenges before finally bringing the twins home.</p>
