Donny Pangilinan earns praise for quietly handing out relief packs in Cavite

<div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust:100%">Donny Pangilinan has again shown that he is more than his looks and his talent – he also has a good heart.</span></div><p>On Tuesday, August 11, a netizen posted a video of the actor handing out relief packs at the Risen Christ Catholic School in Barangay Acacia, Silang, Cavite.</p><p>Silang was one of the Cavite towns soaked by days of heavy rain from the habagat, which forced thousands of families in the province out of their homes. Provincial disaster officials counted close to 27,000 displaced residents as of Sunday, August 9, with more than 9,000 of them staying in evacuation centers.</p><p>Donny came without cameras or bodyguards. It was only him and a few people who helped him give out the goods. He was also dressed simply – a sando, a cap, and jogging pants.</p><p>The netizen said they never expected a celebrity to drop by their barangay, much less someone as good-looking as Donny.</p><p>&quot;Akalain mong bulagain ang Brgy. Acacia ng isang napakaguapong 6-footer na bisita!&quot; the netizen wrote.</p><p>The comments section quickly filled up with praise – and plenty of kilig.</p><p>&quot;Nanginginig si Ate mag video, siguro kinikilig,&quot; one person teased.</p><p>Others said helping out only adds to a person&#x27;s good looks.</p><p>&quot;Pogi ni Donny. Nakakapogi talaga pag ganyan,&quot; one netizen wrote.</p><p>&quot;Buti pa &#x27;to. Hindi lang gwapo, mabait pa. God bless you. Sana marami ka pang matulungan,&quot; another said.</p><p>&quot;Ay, wow naman. Ang gwapo naman ng nagbibigay ng ayuda,&quot; another commented.</p><p>Others noted how Donny has been consistent in reaching out, especially when people need help the most.</p><p>&quot;Good job, Donny. Talagang lagi kang maaasahan sa panahong nangangailangan sila ng tulong. In July last year, he went to Silang to hand out groceries and mattresses to evacuees driven out by monsoon rains.</p><p>He also gave P300,000 to kariton vendors on <em>It&#x27;s Showtime</em> in September last year.</p><p>Earlier this year, he and his father Anthony rolled back diesel prices at their gas station in South Forbes, Silang.</p><div><br/></div><p>—By Paolo Lim</p>
