Moments later, a robber steals from the event organizer. Bitter over how he had been treated, Peter deliberately allows the thief to escape, believing it is no longer his problem. </p><p>That single decision changes his life forever after the same criminal later hijacks Uncle Ben&#x27;s car and fatally shoots him while trying to escape. </p><p>Angered by his uncle&#x27;s death, Peter hunts the robber, only to discover that his own choice to let the criminal escape somehow allowed the tragedy to happen. Realizing that he could have prevented Ben&#x27;s death, Peter carries the weight of that mistake with him for the rest of his life. </p><p>As he mourns the man who raised him, Peter finally understands the true meaning behind Uncle Ben&#x27;s words. Peter&#x27;s greatest transformation was never becoming stronger or faster after the spider bite.
