<p>Businessman and owner of Siargao’s Maison Bukana, Christophe Bariou, shared that his resort has been cleared by the DENR-PRA from the alleged violations. The truth took months,” he wrote.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2025/10/14/christophe-bariou-and-nadine-lustre-subjected-to-harassment-in-siargao-0905" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>READ: Christophe Bariou and Nadine Lustre subjected to harassment in Siargao | ABS-CBN Entertainment</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust:100%">In the findings of the DENR-PRA, the businessman’s resort had no reclamation, no encroachment beyond their property boundaries, and no sufficient factual basis for the allegation. </span></div><p>Christophe then alleged that this was a smear campaign against him for publicly speaking about the corruption, political intimidation, and harassment happening in Siargao.</p><p>“Within weeks, serious accusations appeared against my resort and were amplified nationally before the investigation had established the facts. Political figures publicly pushed Maison Bukana’s supposed environmental violations at the level of the DENR Secretary,” he said.</p><p>He claimed that he received a “source information” which alleges that there is  external pressure put on DENR to investigate other properties that are connected to him and his family–– something that he is now verifying through official documents.</p><p>“Taken together, I believe this bears the characteristics of a politically motivated smear campaign. I am using my own case because it is documented. A responsible press is essential to public trust. Those who hold others accountable must also be willing to correct themselves. If an accusation deserves a headline, the truth deserves one too,” he said.</p><p>“Let the evidence speak,” he ended.</p><p>Supporters and friends of Christophe shared the same sentiments in the comment section and congratulated him for being able to clear the accusations made against his resort.  </p>
