Song Kang recalls receiving an offer to become a K-pop idol

<p>Song Kang opened up about the early years of his acting journey.</p><p>During a guest appearance on <em>You Quiz on the Block</em>, as reported by The Chosun Daily, the Korean actor recalled that he first entered an acting academy after being encouraged by his father.</p><p>&quot;My father said, &lsquo;If you like [acting], just go for it right away,&#39;&quot; he recalled. &nbsp;&ldquo;[In the academy] I had to act in front of other students, and I kept laughing out of shyness. Every time I went home, I thought, &lsquo;Is this really what I should keep doing?&rsquo; But I didn&rsquo;t want to give up.&quot;</p><p>Kang continued pursuing acting and eventually studied at Konkuk University&rsquo;s Department of Film and Arts.</p><p>During his university years, he was also approached with an opportunity to become a K-pop idol. However, Song turned it down.</p><p>&quot;I&rsquo;m not good at singing or dancing,&quot; he explained.</p><p>His acting career later reached a turning point when he auditioned for the Netflix series <em>Love Alarm.&nbsp;</em>Kang<em></em> recalled facing strong competition during the audition process and initially doubting that he would land the role.</p><p>&ldquo;At the time, I was just bold and confident. I thought the other person would get selected, but I was at a dermatologist&rsquo;s office then. When I received the call about my acceptance, my heart raced for the first time.
