(MMGI), who is responsible for bringing Nylon Manila and Billboard Philippines to the country, has a new baby -- Rolling Stone Philippines.Last Thursday, December 12, MMGI officially launched the PH franchise of the iconic magazine in an intimate event in Salon de Ning, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City. MMGI COO Anne Bernisca led the launch together with MMGI CEO Archie Carrasco, RSP’s Chief of Editorial Content Jonty Cruz and Digital Editor Sai Versailles. According to Bernisca, “Rolling Stone Philippines is not just a music magazine. It’s a multi-platform media magazine.”Cruz added: “Bringing back the sense of attitude. That’s what we want to be known for. Like right now, when you ask people what Rolling Stone is - rock and roll and music. But I think when it’s all said and done and when you see our content, you’ll get a sense of ‘oh this is another level of storytelling.’”“I don’t think anyone went into Rolling Stone thinking, oh it’s a great current landscape of truth and critical journalism and you want to bring that back now. And the way to do that is through an iconic brand that can bring people together -- from music, culture and politics and all that,” he said.Versailles said it’s time to stand up and tell untold stories from talents who are not always on the radar. “To be able to talk about not just music, but the attitude and the beliefs, and the values that music carries.”
