<p>As the 41st PMPC Star Awards for Movies approaches, excitement builds, promising a night filled with sparkle, nostalgia, and celebration.</p><p>On November 30, Sunday, the newly constructed Makabagong San Juan Theater in San Juan will host its inaugural entertainment awards event — an appropriate debut for a place meant to bring stories, artistry, and talent to life.</p><p>This year&#x27;s theme, &quot;Bagong Dekada ng Makabagong Pelikula,&quot; establishes the tone for the event. It&#x27;s a tribute to the ever-changing environment of Philippine cinema, as well as a toast to the directors, actors, and creatives who continue to push the boundaries.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:633px;display:block" width="633"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1764308918304image0.jpeg" style="width:633px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="633"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Gladys Reyes</span></span></span>The show will be streamed live on iWant at 6:50 p.m., allowing fans from all over to participate in the celebration. Gladys Reyes will host together with Miss Grand International 2024 CJ Opiaza and singer-actor Marlo Mortel.</div><p>The celebrations begin early, with nominees and special guests dressed in their best modern Filipiniana ensemble for the red carpet walk at 5 p.m. Fans on the ground floor can freely watch their favorite stars move through flashes and applause. The comedy sketch is both glamorous and engaging.</p><p>Midway through the show, the spotlight dims for a while when OPM&#x27;s rising romantic voice Amiel Sol takes the stage. His silky tone and natural appeal lend a touch of warmth and just the proper amount of &quot;kilig&quot; to balance the sparkle.</p><p>The In Memoriam portion is one of the most emotional parts of the night, as the entertainment industry pays respect to icons who have died in recent months. Asia&#x27;s Soul Siren Nina pays tribute to renowned figures such as Gloria Romero, director Mike De Leon, Delia Razon, Rosa Rosal, Ricky Davao, Freddie Aguilar, Hajji Alejandro, and National Artist Nora Aunor through a poignant musical tribute.</p><p>The ceremony also recognizes five individuals whose contributions influenced Philippine cinema. This year&#x27;s Nora Aunor Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to veteran artists Alma Moreno and Ramon &quot;Bong&quot; Revilla, Jr., who are both recognized and praised for their decades-long careers and unmistakable impact on the entertainment business.</p><p>On the filmmaking front, revered and iconic movie producer Jesse Ejercito is honored with the Ulirang Alagad ng Pelikula sa Likod ng Kamera Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes him for producing blockbuster and award-winning films, as well as mentoring and launching the careers of icons such as Lorna Tolentino, Amy Austria, and Daria Ramirez in the 1970s.</p><p>The tribute continues with the Ethel Ramos Dean&#x27;s Lister Lifetime Achievement Award, which was handed to seasoned PMPC members Mercy Lejarde and Crispina Belen, who are both celebrating 50 years of committed showbiz journalism – an accomplishment that fans and industry peers feel is long overdue.</p><p>Another highlight is the presentation of the Takilya King and Queen special awards to Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, respectively. This declaration recognizes their unrivaled box-office power, notably the P1.9 billion worldwide gross sales of their Star Cinema film, &quot;Hello Love Again,&quot; and their partnership&#x27;s influence beyond film and into pop culture.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:633px;display:block" width="633"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1764308983963image2.jpeg" style="width:633px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="633"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Seth Fedelin</span></span></span></div><p>Presenters Gary Estrada, Seth Fedelin, Sunshine Cruz, Chanda Romero, Rez Cortez, and a few additional surprise guests will be on stage, adding to the excitement.</p><p>Behind the scenes, this year&#x27;s production is overseen by GSD Studios, a new creative events firm founded by Elai Tabilog and brought to life by director Jorron Lee Monroy.</p><p>This year&#x27;s PMPC Star Awards for Movies is growing up to be more than just a ceremony; it&#x27;s an emotional tribute to the artists, storytellers, and visionaries that keep Philippine film alive and well.</p>
