Locally, there were the well-received reunions of the Eraserheads and Rivermaya.Although based in the United States for over two decades now, Gemora always wondered if his old band might get the chance. You know — WolfgangYeah, Wolfgang that hard rocking quartet that broke into the local music scene in the mid-1990s where people wondered if they were a foreign band because of their sound (that combined their love for Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam among others), looks (well at least for vocalist Basti Artadi and guitarist Manuel Legarda), and the depth of their songs.That Wolfgang that proved to local recording companies that Filipino hard rock CAN sell as much as your standard pop fare, get released in the United States, Australia, and Japan, and win a slew of awards. “Yes, I always did wonder more so since we lost Mon Legaspi (the band’s bassist who passed away in 2022),” admitted Gemora via long distance interview exactly one week after tickets to the Wolfgang Reunion Concert this coming February 7, 2026, went on sale locally.This year, 2025, has been a milestone for the band. They re-released their self-titled debut album, dubbed &quot;Wolfgang 30&quot; to commemorate its 30th Anniversary, in box set and standard format via underground record label Eikon Records. Their music was the basis for a critically acclaimed rock opera &quot;Si Faust.&quot; And now, there’s the reunion show at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao.“I think it is great that our music continues to be well-received to this day and that we have new fans. When we were recording these songs, we never looked far ahead. We just wanted to live out our rock and roll dream,” shared Gemora. “I recently met a 13-year-old fan who discovered our music, and I was pleasantly surprised. He was listening to his father’s music and was enjoying it.”“As for me? I am going to enjoy playing those old songs,” he enthused.Of the band’s acclaimed and award-winning catalogue, Gemora admitted that one song that he was looking to perform live again with his old bandmates was “As Oceans” from their debut album.“It is my favorite Wolfgang,” he shared smiling. “I love the way the song starts slow then builds to a crescendo that never lets up.  Like Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” that takes a while before drummer John Bonham chimes in, for “As Oceans,” Gemora’s cymbals enter 74 seconds into the song. Only after a minute and 36 seconds does his thunderous drums send the song into overdrive.  “Yeah, I am stoked for that. And Basti wrote some amazing lyrics for that. Well, for all our songs. I’m excited.”Gemora last performed with Wolfgang after the release of their fifth album, &quot;Black Mantra,&quot; in 2001. They did some shows to promote the album, but he moved Stateside soon after with the band going into a hiatus.That didn’t stop him from performing as he was part of a Southern California band that featured members of Wolfgang (Artadi) and Razorback called Lokomotiv that put out one album in 2005, &quot;Rock N’ Roll Death Toll.&quot;When Wolfgang reformed in 2008 to record their sixth studio album, &quot;Villains,&quot; Francis Aquino was behind the drumkit.“This reunion concert feels like slipping into an old glove. If it gives me goosebumps now, I can only imagine what it will be like when we step onto that stage,&quot; Gemora said. “Right now, we’ll do that concert, and we’ll see where it takes us.”Is this a bucket list thing for Gemora?“No, this wasn’t on a bucket list. When I started out in the music scene, I was just a roadie for Razorback until I got together with Manuel, Mon, and Basti to form Wolfgang. This reunion concert?
