Handout</div>The Philippine staging of Stephen Sondheim&#x27;s &quot;Into the Woods&quot; continues to build its star-studded cast.Mark Bautista, whose stage credits include &quot;The Full Monty,&quot; &quot;Noli Me Tangere,&quot; and &quot;Here Lies Love,&quot; was recently announced as Rapunzel&#x27;s Prince. &quot;I&#x27;ve never played the role of a prince before, so this is going to be exciting for me,&quot; he said. &quot;Falling in love with a princess is quite interesting as well. It&#x27;s a musical with so many intriguing characters and loads of references and elements in the story.&quot;&quot;Also, the fact that this is going to be my first Sondheim musical makes me feel more excited than ever to get involved with such a special material.&quot; Joreen Bautista, dubbed the &quot;Filipina Disney Princess&quot; on TikTok, will take on the role of Rapunzel, on top of her other roles as Cinderella&#x27;s Mother and Sleeping Beauty in the production. She has gained a presence in the European theater scene after playing the role of Kim in &quot;Miss Saigon&quot; productions in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, and Switzerland. &quot;I&#x27;m excited to bring Rapunzel&#x27;s whimsical yet emotional journey to life in my first musical in the Philippines, surrounded by such talented artists,&quot; she said. &quot;What I love about &#x27;Into the Woods&#x27; is how Sondheim uses music and lyrics...and a whole of magic... to reveal the raw and imperfect sides of our beloved fairy tale characters, making their stories feel more human,&quot; she added. Teetin Villanueva, meanwhile, is the newest addition to the cast of &quot;Into the Woods.&quot; She will play the character of Little Red Riding Hood.Her musical appearances include roles in &quot;Rak of Aegis,&quot; &quot;Rock of Ages,&quot; &quot;Ang Huling El Bimbo,&quot; and the recently staged &quot;Mula sa Buwan,&quot; among others.&quot;When I was growing up, my dad read us stories and fairy tales. I love that in this musical, we get to see familiar characters from different fairy tales all together in one story.
