MANILA -- Aside from full length movies and short films, the Filipino Academy of Movies, Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) will now honor the best of Filipino talents from television, radio and new media at the first FAMAS Broadcast Arts Awards.FAMAS made the announcement in a press conference Wednesday, attended by president Francia Conrado, artistic director Vince Tanada and other officers.<div>Among the categories that they will have are:</div>-- Best News Program-- Best TV News Anchor-- Best AM Program-- Best FM Program-- Best Podcast-- Best Podcast HostThe board and the selection committee has begun reviewing entries and content, most especially those on the digital platform.Some of the general eligibility criteria include that the content has appeared on free television network, cable, radio, and/or online platforms available to the public.The show must have aired from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.Programs must be submitted under the correct categories such as drama, variety, talk show, lifestyle, comedy, reality/competition, documentary, news programs, public affairs, magazine and educational.There will be a total of 28 competitive awards, as well as two honorary titles.The 1st FAMAS Broadcast Arts Awards will happen on May 4, 2026 at the Fiesta Pavillion of the Manila Hotel.
