Dennis Trillo on producing MMFF film entry ‘Green Bones’: ‘Feeling namin winner na kami eh!’

<p>After launching his first production company BrightBurn Entertainment earlier this year with wife Jennylyn Mercado, actor Dennis Trillo was thrilled to share that their very first big screen project will finally be released this month as part of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival.</p><p>“Masuwerte kami na yung pinaka-unang project ng BrightBurn ay yung aming pelikula na Green Bones na Metro Manila Film Festival entry. Dahil nung unang in-announce lima pa lang eh. Feeling namin napakasuwerte dahil ito yun perfect na panahon para sa pag-po-produce ng pelikula dahil siguro kung mag-po-produce ka ng pelikula na hindi Christmas season, baka hindi tayo sure na kalalabasan. Sobrang naniwala ako sa project hanggang naging partners na sa paggawa ng pelikula. Yes may capital infusion kami. Gusto namin kasi siyempre ito yung time para mag-produce ka ng mga pelikula. Ito yung season ng pinakamadaming manunuod ng mga pelikula. Talagang lumalabas sila para manuod. Tapos yun yung napili namin kasi feeling namin yun yung akma talaga dun sa passion namin. So yung bright yun yung mga ideas namin tapos yung burn naman na word is yung execution ng lahat ng iyun. Burning passion. Ngayon, masaya kami na yung mga ideas namin, na-vo-voice out na namin at na-ma-materialize namin into projects na noon pa namin gusto gawin na hindi namin nagawa nung mga artista pa kami. Bago pa lang (laughs). Pero hindi imposible na mangyari yun kasi sieympre magkakaiba kami ng taste. Pero ang importante, nagkakasundo kami sa isang bagay at pinag-uusapan namin kung ano yung bagay na yun na kailangan namin pagkasunduan,” he said.</p><p>For Dennis, the biggest challenge he has faced as a producer so far is the influx of stories that BrightBurn has been receiving for various platforms.</p><p>“Siyempre ngayon, pare-pareho kaming nagsisimula pa lang kami sa kumpanya namin. Siguro ang pinaka-challenge lang dun ay yung sa dami ng nag-pi-pitch ng project, kailangan talagang piliin namin ng mabuti yung mga gagawin namin dahil siyempre kailangan makuha rin namin yung tamang timpla, magawa namin yung mga tamang timpla ng mga proyekto na mag-a-appeal din sa mga manunuod,” he admitted.</p>
