K-Drama ‘Itaewon Class’ to have a Philippine adaptation

Popular K-drama Itaewon Class is set for a Philippine remake.According to a report by The Korea Times, the adaptation rights to the hit 2020 series have been sold for both Philippine and Vietnamese versions.Originally led by Park Seo-joon as Park Saeroyi, Itaewon Class follows an “ex-con [who] opens a street bar in Itaewon while seeking revenge on the family responsible for his father’s death,” as described on IMDb. The series also stars Kim Da-mi, Kwon Nara, Lee Joo-young, Ahn Bo-hyun, Kim Dong-hee, Yoo Jae-myung, and Kim Hye-eun.Itaewon Class won the Best Drama Series at the 25th Asian Television Awards and the Best Mini Series - Silver Bird Prize at the 15th Seoul International Drama Awards.Filipino fans online were quick to share their reactions following the news.&quot;Grabe &#x27;yung scene ni PSJ dito nung iniiyakan niya papa niya. It has led me to reflect on my life once more — dwelling on a person&#x27;s beliefs, simple honesty, and the person&#x27;s thoughts on values and the values on a person&#x27;s mind,” the actor remarked.He went on to reflect on his life, noting how his own dreams eventually came true, much like Park Saeroyi, who also started as a dreamer. &quot;Some people may say that it is only possible in dramas or it happens only in dramas, but when I look back at my life, I thought that becoming an actor was something that only happens in films,&quot; he shared.  Seo-joon added: &quot;However, I think that nothing is impossible if I keep on dreaming, putting it into action, and sticking to my standard.&quot;
