MANILA -- Director Richard V. Somes promises a fresh take on the horror genre with &quot;Near Death,&quot; one of the featured films at this year&#x27;s Sine Sindak Film Festival.The film, which stars Charlie Dizon, Xyriel Manabat, and RK Bagatsing, is expected to deliver a chilling yet immersive experience for audiences.&quot;It is a haunting experience. At the same time, there&#x27;s a whole lot of [jump] scares,&quot; Somes said in an interview held during the film&#x27;s red carpet premiere in Quezon City on Sunday. &quot;I can promise it is a new kind of horror. It&#x27;s a different kind of horror film.&quot;Somes added that &quot;Near Death&quot; is best experienced in theaters.&quot;Maganda sa sinehan para mas maramdaman mo &#x27;yung sounds, the visuals,&quot; he said. &quot;It&#x27;s nice to enjoy horror films in the company of other people.&quot;The Sine Sindak Film Festival runs this October 29 at SM Cinemas.
