Liza Soberano expressed her excitement and gratitude after being announced as one of the lead voice cast members in DreamWorks&#x27; upcoming animated movie Forgotten Island.On her Instagram Stories, Liza shared her disbelief and joy, writing: &quot;I can&#x27;t believe I get to be part of something as special as Forgotten Island!!&quot;She also thanked the studio and the film&#x27;s directors for the opportunity, saying, &quot;Thank you @dreamworks @joel.crawford.art @jmercado for making my dreams come true.”Liza will be joining H.E.R., Lea Salonga, Manny Jacinto, Dave Franco, and Jenny Slate as the movie&#x27;s lead voice cast members.<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1761830179358Liza Soberano IG Story.jpeg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div>Forgotten Island tells the story of lifelong best friends Jo (voiced by H.E.R.) and Raissa (voiced by Liza) who become stranded on the magical, long-forgotten island of Nakali where the only path home may mean giving up their most treasured memories.The film is being written and co-directed by Filipino-American filmmaker Januel Mercado alongside Joel Crawford. Universal Pictures is set to release the movie in theaters on September 25, 2026.Forgotten Island will be the first film where Januel receives full directing credit. He previously co-directed the critically acclaimed Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, also produced by DreamWorks.Liza previously lent her voice to the Filipino-dubbed version of the Netflix animated series Trese in 2020.The actress made her Hollywood debut in 2024 through the film Lisa Frankenstein, where she played Taffy, a cheerleader and the half-sister of Lisa (portrayed by Kathryn Newton).In an interview with Yong Chavez of ABS-CBN News during the film&#x27;s premiere in February 2024 in the US, Liza shared that she felt overwhelmed by the positive feedback she received for her performance.&quot;Sobrang na-overwhelm po ako kasi hindi ko in-expect na maraming, I don’t know, makakapansin kagad sa akin. I play a supporting character, obviously, in &#x27;Lisa Frankenstein&#x27; and it’s just so overwhelming to hear that people really love my character and they really love the comedic timing that I bring to the story and everything,&quot; she stated.
