<p>In the new comedy <em>Flower Girl</em>, Sue Ramirez plays the role of a sanitary napkin model Ena who one day wakes up to discover that her lady part has disappeared. As part of the promotions for the movie, a mascot named Poochy — which is meant to represent Ena’s lady part — has been seen around Metro Manila looking like she escaped from a napkin commercial. Kahit ang laki laki niya. I love Poochy. Game lang ako agad. Hindi ako kinabahan talaga,” she shared. “Also the material I look for when I do movies, gusto ko something that people will talk about. Definitely they’ll find it crazy and they find it very interesting!”</p><p>Sue went on to share what the audience can look forward to in the movie. </p><p>“It’s definitely something that will make them think. Mapapaisip talaga sila and I’m sure madami silang matututunan. Kahit pa ang atake namin dito is not very serious; it is very situational comedy kasi. Yung eksena yung nakakatawa talaga, hindi yung dialogue, hindi yung reaction. Nakakatawa yung situation. That’s why it also differs from all the comedy films that’s out now or out before. But actually, what this film is all about is equality. What are we all asking for is basically equality,” she explained. </p><p>“Who are we without our genitals? Without whatever it is between our legs? Do our genitals really define who we are? Nawawala ba talaga yung identity natin kung wala yun? So more than women empowerment, I think this movie also wants to get across a message of self-love dun sa mga manunuod,” she went on. “Parang, sino bang magmamahal sa atin kung hindi natin mahal ang sarili natin? Parang nag hirap naman natin i-pitch yung sarili natin sa ibang tao na ‘Mahalin mo ako!’ Pero ikaw sa sarili mo, ang dami mong hindi gusto about yourself. So it’s also hard for other people to love you when you don’t love yourself. I grew up na may sakit ang tatay ko since 16 years old ako. Lahat kaming limang magkakapatid nag-aaral kami ng sabay sabay and my mom talaga, tinaguyod niya kaming lahat ng walang tulong from anybody. That’s why ang lakas nung sense of women empowerment sa akin kasi I know how strong women can be. Because I saw how strong women can be,” she admitted.</p><p>The <em>Flower Girl </em>star also shared that the audience will also get a kick out of discovering who is the mystery actress who gave voice to the character of Poochy in the film.</p><p>“Eto yung nakakatawa, I was telling my co-actress in another movie that I was shooting last year na kasabay din nito halos. I was telling her about the concept and tuwang-tuwa siya dun sa concept, nakakatawa daw, ganyan. And then on our next shooting day, she said, ‘Sue, ako nag-boses kay Poochy!’ So na-manifest na naman natin ulit. So hindi ko alam na nung sinasabi ko dun sa co-actress ko na yun, hindi niya rin alam pala at that time na siya rin ang boboses kay Poochy. Na-manifest natin na siya and perfect na perfect po na siya yung boses ni Poochy.
