James Reid shares piece of advice for next PBB Big Winners ahead of Big Night

<p>As the historic<em> </em><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pinoy-big-brother-collab" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><em><strong>Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition</strong></em></a> draws closer to the end, the lives of the duo who are destined to win are about to change.  </p><div> </div><p>The reality show, which has served as the launching pad for some of the brightest stars in the entertainment industry, will hail two big winners — a Kapamilya and a Kapuso — for the first time in history.  </p><div> </div><p>Actor-musician James Reid, a product of the show who earned the title of Teen Clash Big Winner in 2010, offered some advice for the next Big Winners ahead of the Big Night which will be happening on July 5. </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750676935037james.JPG" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div> </div><p>“Well, there’s so many things I learned either from the show or after the show, and I’ve given so much advice before to the previous winners, but I’ll say something new: ‘Don’t get lost in the sauce,’” he told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.  </p><div> </div><p>Carrying some sense of maturity rooted from experience, he briefly shared how popularity can be both fulfilling and draining at the same time.  </p><div> </div><p>“You know, being in the limelight and being in the public eye all the time, I mean having so many fans, it can be intoxicating but it can also be toxic,” he said.  </p><div> </div><p>“So don’t get caught up in the lights, in all the glitter and all the confetti,” he added as a piece of advice.  </p><div> </div><p>James, who took a five-year hiatus in acting, openly admitted in his previous interviews that the demands of the showbiz industry took a toll on him.  </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750676962149james-reid.JPG" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div> </div><p>In an interview with Philippine Star in 2024, he shared the reason behind his temporary disappearance in the limelight. </p><div> </div><p>“It was in 2020, there was a lot of pressure and lots of expectations. I was very young then and I wasn’t sure what I wanted and how to handle things. I didn’t know myself so much,” he said.  </p><div> </div><p>James, who was the other half of the successful JaDine love team, told ABS-CBN News in a separate interview that his break was necessary after being consumed by high expectations from fans. </p><div> </div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/2024/9/17/james-reid-looking-forward-to-his-comeback-projects-with-abs-cbn-1720" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>READ: James Reid looking forward to his comeback projects with ABS-CBN</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>“I needed a break. Especially coming from a love team, I was starting to lose my identity. It&#x27;s tough. I don&#x27;t think anyone, except for my other batchmates in show business and love teams, would possibly understand what it&#x27;s like. It&#x27;s tough,” he said.  </p><div> </div><p>The <em>PBB Teen Clash </em>Big Winner reminded the next big winners to value the people who paved the way for them: “Still remember the people who were there before you were famous.” </p><div> </div><p>James graced the <em>PBB Gen 11 Big Night</em> as a celebrity guest in October 2024, alongside other Big Winners Maymay Entrata and Anji Salvacion.  </p><div> </div><p>With over a week left until the Big Night, five duos continue to battle for their spots as the Big 4 duos have yet to be named.  </p>
