EXCLUSIVE: Enchong Dee embraces supporting role in ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay PH’

Kasi first time talaga namin, even kapag nag-preview kami, kapag nag-shoot kami, as much as possible, I try not to (watch). Kasi mako-conscious ako. If people get to finally see, <em>It&#x27;s Okay to Not Be Okay</em>. Mas maiintindihan nila kung bakit kakaiba yung mga characters namin kaya sobrang distinct nilang lahat,” he shared.</p><p>Audiences have taken a liking to recent episodes, particularly Enchong’s portrayal of Boss Vincent, where he showcases his natural comedic timing.</p><p>“I think ang basis talaga namin is si Direk Mae (Cruz-Alviar) and Direk Raymond (Ocampo). Kapag nag-react sila, natatawa sila, it means it&#x27;s okay. So, nung nakikita na namin while we&#x27;re doing it, happy sila, happy na rin kami” he added.</p><p>Enchong also shared that he doesn’t mind playing a supporting role this time, after years of portraying leading men.</p><p>“I think it was also at an actually perfect time na rin because my last one was three years ago. Feeling ko enough time for me to take a rest, take a backseat, and then now, it doesn&#x27;t matter if you&#x27;re lead, if you&#x27;re not lead, as long as you can perform, every opportunity you can perform, it&#x27;s a blessing,” he said.</p><div><iframe width="1265" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/S18rfwgWnz8" title="Vincent and Madeth: The Unlikely Comedy Duo | It’s Okay To Not Be Okay | Netflix Philippines" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>He also noted that while the show stays faithful to the original Korean version, this adaptation brings something fresh to the audience.</p><p>“I think they really just have to watch it on a clean slate. Kung ano man yung napanood nila na Korean version, they have to have an open mind kapag pinanood nila &#x27;to. Because mas malapit sa puso ng Pinoy yung kwento. Di ba? Even from the locations, talagang pinakita natin kung gaano kaganda rin yung Pilipinas, yung mga ganong bagay,” he mentioned.</p><p>Enchong also shared the valuable lesson he took away from being part of this major project.</p><p>“Number one, it&#x27;s okay to really not be okay sometimes. Second, there is an opportunity in all our misfortunes. And, you know, meron at meron tao sa paligid natin na tutulong at aakay sa atin para mapagaan kung ano man yung pinagdadaanan natin. I think those three,” Enchong shared.</p>
