Puregold CinePanalo 2026 has officially broken records, announcing the largest production grants in Philippine film festival history.For its third edition, seven full-length film directors will be rewarded P5 million, while 20 student filmmakers will receive P200,000.Puregold senior marketing manager and chair of Puregold CinePanalo, Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, outlined why increasing the grants is important to the festival&#x27;s vision.“CinePanalo is our launchpad for the new breed of Philippine cinema,” she said. “By providing more funds, we may now challenge our filmmakers to break every boundary of narrative, style, and genre.”<div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1755753178239image0 (2).jpeg" class="fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:633px"/></div>Hayagan-Piedad went on to note, “All narrative and genre restrictions are being lifted. Craft and excellence will be the new focal point of the festival. Puregold CinePanalo is thus encouraging participants to explore a wider range of stories and styles for their entries — from cerebral thrillers to whimsical young romances to more complex stories with intricate plot turns.”“The door is open for all types of films at this year’s Puregold CinePanalo,” Piedad enthusiastically shared. “Let us all demonstrate the full breadth of the local film industry.”To participate in the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo festival, applicants must complete the online application form, which includes the following: signed terms and conditions, a synopsis in Filipino or English, a log line in Filipino or English, a completed screenplay, the director&#x27;s resume with links to sample works, two recent photos of the director, the director of photography, a list of producers, and an assistant director.The full-length film category is available to both professional and amateur filmmakers aged 18 and over. Applications for full-length categories must be received by September 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.On October 1, a shortlist of 30 applications will be released, and each must submit an initial pitch deck by October 8. On October 15, 15 applicants will be chosen to present their ideas to the festival organizers from October 22 to 23.The final seven recipients of production funds will be announced on October 25.Meanwhile, applications for the student short film category will close on November 25 at 11:59 p.m. Applicants must be at least 15 years old and enrolled in school during the festival&#x27;s run in August 2026. Applicants must submit a certificate of enrollment for SY 2025-2026. The final list of chosen student filmmakers will be announced on February 1.The final produced films in all categories will be screened at the Gateway Cineplex 18 as part of the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, which runs from August 7 to August 18, 2026.They will follow in the footsteps of critically acclaimed and award-winning films from previous festival runs, including “Under a Piaya Moon,” “Salum,” and more.The application form for the full-length category can be accessed <a href="https://tinyurl.com/PCPFFFullApp">here</a>.
