Rica Peralejo to make acting comeback in MMFF entry 'Manila's Finest'

Rica Peralejo is making her comeback to acting in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 entry Manila’s Finest.On Instagram, Rica shared photos from the crime-drama film&#x27;s table read session and story conference alongside the rest of the cast, reflecting on her journey back to acting after years away from the big screen.&quot;It&#x27;s been years since I read a movie script. Yet it didn&#x27;t feel strange,&quot; she wrote.The actress revealed that one of the reasons she accepted the project was her co-star Piolo Pascual, describing him as &quot;a big part&quot; of her decision.In an interview with One Balita Pilipinas, Rica remarked: &quot;I know that when [Piolo] makes movies, it&#x27;s always kumbaga quality film siya, magandang materyal &#x27;to.&quot;In her Instagram post, Rica also shared a moment she shared with co-star Cedrick Juan. &quot;Did not skip the chance to have a photo with this guy who was part of the movie that made me realize I do miss the craft,&quot; she stated.Her movie comeback also brought joy to her family, especially her mother who recently turned 80. &quot;My mother turned 80 this year and I told her she has another gift from me. Being my #1 fan and believer, she was deliriously happy to know I am again appearing on the big screen,&quot; she shared.Reflecting on this new chapter, Rica admitted she is just as surprised as her supporters. &quot;All I can say is that I am just as surprised as all of you.😂 But I guess if it’s for you, it’s for you. The movie will be headlined by Piolo Pascual as Lt. Homer Magtibay.Aside from Rica, Piolo, and Cedrick, the movie will also star Enrique Gil, Ariel Rivera, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Joey Marquez, Romnick Sarmienta, Dylan Menor, and Ashtine Olviga, among others.The movie is set to be released in December 2025.
