<p>Some things are meant to stay buried.</p><p>Hot off the record-setting resurrection of Evil Dead Rise, writer/director Lee Cronin has now set his sights on another iconic monster in “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy.”</p><p>“Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” tells the story of the disappearance of a journalist’s young daughter in the desert and her shocking return after eight years.</p><p>In an interview on IGN, Cronin described The Mummy as “almost one part Poltergeist and one part Se7en”, referring to two iconic horror movies by Tobe Hooper and David Fincher.</p><p>He added that after diving into mummy lore, what sparked him into developing the story was the question: “What if this mummy wasn&#x27;t a pharaoh or a king but an everyday person? And what if that person was needed for something else?”</p><p>Written and directed by Cronin, the film stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, with Veronica Falcón.</p><p>“Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.
