Disney and Pixar reveal ‘Coco 2’ concept art ahead of 2029 release

<p>Disney and Pixar have given fans an early glimpse of <em>Coco 2.  </em></p><p>On August 15, a new concept art for the film was unveiled featuring a teenage Miguel with his iconic guitar, alongside his loyal companion, Dante. </p><p>The highly anticipated sequel is scheduled to hit theaters in November 2029, with Benjamin Bratt returning as the musician Ernesto de la Cruz. </p><p>Benjamin offered a playful tease of what awaits lead character Miguel during the film’s announcement at <em>D23</em>, where Disney presented several of its upcoming projects. </p><p>“To some, Miguel is a little menace who ruined a career and destroyed a legacy,” he said. “Ernesto de la Cruz is back for revenge, sending Miguel on an adventure back to the land of the dead. It also took home two Academy Awards, winning Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Remember Me.” </p><p>Now, more than a decade after the original film&#x27;s release, Miguel&#x27;s story is set to continue with a much older version of the young musician at the center of the next chapter. </p><p><em>Coco 2</em> is among the many projects Disney revealed during its latest <em>D23</em> presentation. </p><p>The upcoming slate also includes <em>Frozen 3, Lilo &amp; Stitch 2, Zootopia 3, Ice Age: Boiling Point</em> and Pixar’s first ghost-themed movie, <em>Ghost Market</em>, among other films planned for release in the coming years.</p>
