I was always afraid of the dark, and I&#x27;d have sleep paralysis,&quot; he said.&quot;It feels like you&#x27;re being held down. You can&#x27;t move, and I&#x27;ve learned how to get out of it. It happens to me a lot. I have like my little prayer that I say, and it gets me out,&quot; he said of his sleep paralysis experience.Eve, on the other hand, shared a lesson she learned from her character.&quot;Learning that it&#x27;s okay to ask for help and to accept help. I think, yeah, I think more than anything, that&#x27;s the greatest tool you can have in your arsenal,&quot; she said.<div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jxU8FU3o75A?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></div>Veteran actress Lin Shaye, who has been starring in &quot;Insidious&quot; movies since 2010, said being part of the franchise has had a huge impact on her.&quot;I&#x27;ve been extremely fortunate, and I&#x27;m extremely grateful, and it changed my life,&quot; she said.Horror filmmaker James Wan also returns to the franchise as the film&#x27;s producer.&quot;Superstition is such a big part of the way I create my scares, from a very sort of like Southeast Asian perspective,&quot; said the Malaysia-born Wan.&quot;I grew up with a lot of great, scary, superstitious stories from my family back in Malaysia, and just the psychological fear that I have for it, because it&#x27;s so intrinsically in my upbringing. It’s that&#x27;s the kind of stuff that I would naturally lean into when I make these movies,&quot; he said.The film is directed by Jacob Chase, who said he somehow relates to Eve&#x27;s character, Gemma.&quot;I was terrified to become a dad. I was terrified of reliving the sins of my own parents, honestly, and that really fed its way into this material. Gemma, the main character, is someone who is terrified of reliving the sins of her mom,&quot; Chase said.&quot;Then through the course of going through The Further and what she (Gemma) learns in this movie, she ends up becoming closer and closer to the woman she never wanted to become, and I think that absolutely, you know, was tied to my own fears of becoming a father,&quot; he explained.
