Anne Hathaway to star alongside Tom Cruise in 'Days of Thunder' sequel

<p>Anne Hathaway is set to star alongside Tom Cruise in the upcoming <em>Days of Thunder</em> sequel.</p><p>Tom took to social media to share a photo of himself with Anne as he announced their collaboration on the project.</p><p>“<em>Days of Thunder</em>. Summer 2028,” he wrote.</p><p>According to Variety, the movie is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2028, nearly four decades after the original <em>Days of Thunder </em>premiered in 1990. Tom will reprise his role as race car driver Cole Trickle, while Anne will portray a race team owner and engineer. A sequel was my long-standing wish,&quot; another fan wrote.</p><p>The original movie follows &quot;a young hot-shot stock car driver gets his chance to compete at the top level,&quot; as per its IMDb.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/movies-series/2026/8/6/anne-hathaway-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-the-princess-diaries-1550" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>READ: Anne Hathaway celebrates 25th anniversary of &#x27;The Princess Diaries&#x27;</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>The announcement comes amid a busy period for Anne, who also has several films lined up, including <em>Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, The End of Oak Stree</em>t, and <em>Verity.</em></p><p>In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier in August, Anne reflected on just how busy her schedule has become.</p><p>“When I got my schedule for this year from all the wonderful film studios that I’ve worked with, I saw it and I kind of thought I was being punked,” she admitted.</p><p>The actress went on: “But then they showed me that no, no, no, all these [release] dates were going to hold and I just said as long as audiences don’t get sick of my face — which I wouldn’t blame them, I would not blame them if they did— let’s go.”</p><p>Aside from her busy professional schedule, the <em>Odyssey</em> star also reached another milestone in her personal life this year.</p><p>In June, Anne announced that she was pregnant with her third child with husband Adam Shulman, sharing a short clip on Instagram that showed her baby bump at that time. </p>
