Emerging P-pop girl group DNA made waves with the launch of their official music video for their single “Don’t Ask Me Why,” showcasing their unapologetic attitude, artistry, and individuality.In an interview during the launch, members Tasha, Ezri and Julia shared how the production was both challenging and fulfilling.“It took some getting used to, but it was so nice to see the support and the community that helped us,” said Tasha. “We had so many people helping us out during that whole day, so we’re very thankful and lucky.”Ezri said the video represents a fearless expression of who they are as artists.“It’s just expressing ourselves in a very bold way loud and proud,” she said.<div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/h4b-h7YhCmA?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></div>The trio recently shared the stage with their aunt, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid on &quot;ASAP,&quot; an experience they described as both nerve-wracking and unforgettable.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/2025/10/12/watch-regine-collabs-with-p-pop-girl-group-dna-on-asap-1403">WATCH: Regine collabs with P-pop girl group DNA on &#x27;ASAP&#x27; </a></div>“That was our first time singing with our tita,” recalled Tasha. “We were so pressured because we didn’t want to sound bad beside her, but it was fun and such an honor to share the stage with her.”Julia added that Regine’s warmth helped ease their nerves.“She’s very happy we did it. She supports us more like an aunt than as a singer,” Julia said with a smile.With P-Pop now gaining traction globally through acts like SB19 and BINI, DNA expressed pride in being part of a growing industry that’s finally stepping onto the international stage.“It’s so nice to see the talent being pushed to the international stage as deserved,” Ezri said. “The world deserves to see what we have to show as a whole, and we can only hope to stand alongside them.”Like many new artists, DNA is no stranger to online scrutiny. Julia admitted they were surprised by both the overwhelming support and the volume of criticism.“We were surprised. There were bashers, we kind of expected it, but not that much,” she said. “At least we’re relevant. All we can do is just prove them wrong.”Tasha said they also take constructive criticism to heart. “Sometimes they have a point, so we listen,” she said.Ezri shared how she copes with negativity by turning it into motivation.“I read it, I cry, and then I practice,” she admitted. “It’s important to feel the emotions, then get back to it. There are valid criticisms, and we just want to deliver the best performance we can.”After the music video launch, the group plans to continue creating and refining their sound.“We’re just gonna keep writing songs, recording, and training,” Ezri revealed. “Hopefully you’ll see an improved version of us next year.”
