EJAE on five Grammy nominations: ‘This is beyond anything I ever imagined’

<p>Singer-songwriter EJAE took to social media to pen a message following her Grammy nominations for &quot;Golden&quot; from the hit Netflix animated film <em>KPop Demon Hunters.</em></p><p>&quot;Golden&quot; is nominated for Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Remixed Recording. Meanwhile, the <em>KPop Demon Hunters</em> soundtrack is nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media.</p><p>&quot;Golden&quot; is performed by EJAE alongside Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami as the fictional group HUNTR/X in the animated movie.  She wrote the track with Mark Sonnenblick, 24, Ido, and Teddy.</p><p>&quot;Omg… I don’t even have the adjectives to describe how I’m feeling 😭 This is beyond anything I ever imagined, being nominated for a Grammy… nevermind SONG OF THE YEAR!!!!&quot; she posted on her Instagram page.</p><p>EJAE expressed her gratitude to the fans and the team behind the animated film. &quot;To say this was my dream is an understatement. This wouldn’t be possible without the fans of the movie who have shown us so much support. I’m forever grateful to @nutmags and @appelhansc for giving me the opportunity to write songs for their movie, @ianeisendrathmusic who was the glue of this whole operation, my cowriter @sonnen_blick, @theblacklabel , my GIRLLSSS @rei.ami &amp; @audreynuna and everyone else involved. I cried all day, literally, and the first thing I thought about was me as a kid. I’m just so happy I made little 11-year-old EJAE’s dream come true,&quot; she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. </p><p>EJAE remarked that having the song she wrote resonate with many people was a special part of the experience.</p><p>&quot;That&#x27;s the part that is so validating. Writing songs is very personal. It can feel like you&#x27;re showing people your diary or even melodically or anything. It feels really, really gratifying to have people really connect with something I co-wrote. That song, the melody came out so fast, so it&#x27;s so cool seeing people sing it and hearing my voice on the radio is so odd,&quot; she stated.</p>
