Photos from SEVENTEEN&#x27;s X account"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">(From left) SEVENTEEN members Vernon and The8. <em>Photos from SEVENTEEN&#x27;s X account</em></span></span></span></div><p>SEVENTEEN members Vernon and The8 are joining forces for a new sub-unit, marking the latest duo venture from the popular K-pop boy group.</p><p>The pair will debut as the sub-unit V8 and release a self-titled extended play (EP) on June 29, their label, Pledis Entertainment, said in a notice posted late Sunday on the Weverse fan community platform.</p><p>The EP &quot;showcases how The8 and Vernon channel the energy of their spent youth into a renewed drive, propelling themselves forward with even greater strength,&quot; Pledis said in the notice.</p><p>&quot;Rather than defining spent youth as simply time that has been lost, the album captures the energy to move forward, transforming the instability and precariousness of youth into a surging sense of freedom,&quot; it added.</p><p>Fans can expect &quot;a diverse range of electronic music&quot; in the EP.</p><p>V8 is the latest two-member sub-unit to emerge from SEVENTEEN, following previous pairings of Jeonghan and Wonwoo, Hoshi and Woozi, S.Coups and Mingyu, and DK and Seungkwan.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/music/2026/1/12/seventeen-s-dk-seungkwan-launch-new-unit-with-dramatic-blue-mv-1735"><strong>READ: SEVENTEEN&#x27;s DK, Seungkwan launch new unit with dramatic &#x27;Blue&#x27; MV<br/></strong></a></div><p>The sub-unit&#x27;s debut also comes as several SEVENTEEN members fulfill South Korea&#x27;s military service required for most able-bodied men.
