Filipino family band Missioned Souls embarks on first US tour as international fanbase grows

Photo courtesy of Missioned Souls</div>Cebu-based family band Missioned Souls will go on their first U.S. concert tour this September after building an international following through social media.Parents Secan and Sheena perform alongside their children Naces, Neisha, Stacey and Isaiah, making up the six-member group.“It is very fulfilling because we are enjoying it together as a family. The children enjoy it too,” Sheena said in an interview.Producer Lerma dela Cruz said the band’s growing popularity among both Filipinos and non-Filipinos inspired her to bring Missioned Souls to the United States.“Filipinos and especially non-Filipinos recommended that I bring them in. I watched their YouTube videos. Ang galing. I want them to be more known by the Filipino community in America,” she said. “They have a big international demand. Marami sa U.S”Missioned Souls has amassed more than 700,000 Facebook followers, 328,000 YouTube subscribers and over 63,000 TikTok followers. Its videos have reached viewers across Asia, North America, Europe and Australia.International fans have also shown their support by flying to the band’s local shows and sending gifts, including guitars, care packages and even cash in U.S. dollars.“It is satisfying that we are known internationally,” Sheena said.“We are grateful for the acceptance. We now doubled the fun,” Secan added.The band says it aims to promote family unity by sharing love, respect and gratitude through music. Secan plays bass and handles sound engineering, Sheena serves as the lead vocalist, Naces plays keyboards and bass, Neisha plays guitar, Stacey sings and plays guitar, and youngest member Isaiah plays the drums.The band’s inaugural U.S. tour includes three shows in Texas, two in New Mexico and one in Rancho Cucamonga, California.“Unity is the magic. Nakikita kasi nila na isang unit kami. Yung faith din namin, ’yun lagi ang nasa comments,” Secan said.
