Handout</div>MANILA — Filipino hip-hop artist Alex Bruce has released her new single &quot;Gabriela,&quot; a female empowerment anthem that will also be featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming sports drama &quot;Bilyarista.&quot;Released Wednesday through Sony Music Entertainment, the track pairs hard-hitting rap verses with brooding production as Bruce tackles themes of confidence, resilience and self-belief.Bruce said the song was inspired by the different standards often applied to men and women who display confidence.&quot;Confidence isn&#x27;t about thinking you&#x27;re better than anyone else,&quot; she said. &quot;It&#x27;s about trusting yourself even if other people don&#x27;t.&quot;&quot;I&#x27;ve never liked how confidence gets praised in men but questioned in women,&quot; she added. &quot;When men are confident, they&#x27;re seen as leaders. When women are, they&#x27;re often called arrogant or &#x27;too much.&#x27;&quot;&quot;Gabriela&quot; continues Bruce&#x27;s signature style of combining assertive lyricism with themes of female empowerment, following a string of previous releases.The song will appear on the official soundtrack of &quot;Bilyarista,&quot; a Filipino sports drama starring Loisa Andalio and John Arcilla. The film follows a young woman pursuing her dream of becoming a world champion in billiards and features appearances by billiards legends Efren &quot;Bata&quot; Reyes and Francisco &quot;Django&quot; Bustamante.Directed by Kip Oebanda, &quot;Bilyarista&quot; premiered at the 56th International Film Festival of India in Goa in November 2025 and is scheduled for Philippine release at a later date.&quot;Gabriela&quot; is available on major streaming platforms through Sony Music Entertainment.
