EXCLUSIVE: Silent Sanctuary admits feeling pressure for their first solo concert ‘Gabi ng Lambing’

<p>After more than two decades in the music industry, OPM band Silent Sanctuary is finally mounting their first major solo concert. Along with the excitement of reaching the milestone, the band admitted they were also feeling nervous about it.</p><p>In an exclusive interview with <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz"><strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong></a>, the group shared that, while 2026 has brought them some of their biggest career achievements, nothing compares to finally being able to stage their own two-night concert this October 24 and 25.</p><p>“Sobrang overwhelming ng mga blessings namin ngayong taon na ito. Nag-Japan kami, Singapore and Canada, and ngayon naman biglang malaking concert, major concert. Sobrang thankful kami sa blessings na dumadating at lalo na na sobrang grateful kami sa mga fans and families na nagsu-support sa amin. Thank you sa 2026!” vocalist Sarkie Sarangay said.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1784530113642Silent Sanctuary.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><strong></strong></div><p>While the band is grateful for the overwhelming support, Sarkie said they never assumed their first major concert would be an instant success.</p><p>“Talagang nature namin na lagi kaming kabado kasi hindi kami nag-expect na ganoon ‘yung mangyayari. Hindi kami (may mindset na) ‘sold out yan, wag ka mag-alala’. Lagi kaming anxious, kagaya nga sabi ni Poch. Naging anxious kami sa ticket selling pa lang but it turns out na sobrang dami palang gusto manood,” Sarki said.</p><p>Kim Mirandilla-Ng added that the biggest challenge is making sure the fans&#x27; support is repaid with a memorable experience: “Yung pressure na paano namin masusuklian ‘yung suporta ng fans, ‘yun ‘yung mas nakakakaba.”</p><p>Meanwhile, Anjo Inacay also admitted that they each personally felt the weight of doing their solo concert as it represents their passion for doing music.</p><p>“May pressure din na nangagaling within ourselves na kahit na kengkoy kami all the time but when it comes to music making, talagang siniseryoso namin. We really want to give our best and kumbaga sa page-ensayo at pagsulat ng mga kanta, nandoon ‘yung best efforts ng lahat,” he stated.</p><div><strong></strong></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1784530163819Silent Sanctuary 2.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><strong></strong></div><p>Poch Villalon also noted how working with concert director Paolo Valenciano, musical director Ria Osorio, the Manila Symphony Orchestra and Viva Voce also added to the pressure.</p><p>“Siguro rin ‘yung makakatrabaho namin for the concert — MSO, Viva Voce, si Direk Pao and Ma’am Ria — kumbaga mas nafi-feel namin ‘yung pressure kasi knowing their resumes, magagaling talaga sila,” he said.</p><p>Poch continued: “Ako, personally, feeling ko, kaya ko ba sila sabayan or kapag may hiningi ba sila sa amin, magagawa ba namin? So, I think it’s a good type of pressure naman kasi doon din siguro lalabas ‘yung best ng buong banda. We are both excited and nervous, but I hope ma-appreciate ng fans ‘yung efforts din na ginagawa namin for this concert.”</p><p>Despite the pressure, the band considers the concert a fitting celebration of their 24-year journey. </p><p>“Naging espesyal siya kasi siya ‘yung first major cancert namin na hindi namin akalain talaga na magagawa namin sa tanang buhay namin na ma-mount namin itong event na ito,” Sarkie said.</p><p>Anjo noted, “Napagusapan na rin namin kung ano ba talagang occasion kung bakit magkakaroon ng concert. Parang ilang taon na ba kayo and 24 years so ayon na lang na 24 years of songs. It&#x27;s really just a celebration of the songs that we’ve released and naging hits and naging parte ng mga buhay ng tao. Jino-joke ni Kim iyon. Bago kami magkaroon ng theme ng concert, lagi sinasabi iyon ni Kim. Parang catchy ‘yun, so sabi namin ganoon na lang gamitin sa concert namin para maiba sa theme ng Halloween,” Sarkie revealed.</p><p>Silent Sanctuary will stage <em>Gabi ng Lambing</em> at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Originally scheduled for October 25, tickets sold out within hours, prompting the band to announce a second show on October 24, a day before the scheduled Day 1 of the show but in the same venue.</p><p>Although it was a different way of mounting a show, the band assured fans who secured their tickets for the first day and those who would buy for the second day would have a different experience.</p><p>“Yung Day 1 and Day 2 sobrang magkaiba sila in terms of guests. Sa Day 1 may ina-eye kami na mga idol namin kasi ayon gusto namin makasama sa pagtugtog,” Sarkie teased. “Sa Day 2, nakakacollab din namin iyon sa isang kanta.”</p><div><strong></strong><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fweb.facebook.com%2Freel%2F977872815281545%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=267&amp;t=0" width="267" height="476" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><strong></strong></div><p>Looking beyond the landmark concert, Silent Sanctuary also hopes to take <em>Gabi ng Lambing</em> on the road through regional and international stops such as the United States, Europe, Thailand, and Japan.</p>
