<p>MANILA -- OPM alternative rock band Teeth is celebrating its 33rd anniversary with a concert tour and the sold-out reissue of its self-titled debut album on vinyl.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/music/2026/7/14/rock-band-teeth-announces-tour-vinyl-release-of-debut-album-1802">Rock band Teeth announces tour, vinyl release of debut album</a></div><p>&quot;I am very excited, of course. I&#x27;m in the States right now. Siyempre excited ako umuwi sa Philippines and then we have shows and we have sold-out record. Excited ako siyempre I can&#x27;t wait ilang weeks pa or days,&quot; band vocalist Glenn Jacinto told ABS-CBN News and other select media during an online conference on Monday afternoon.</p><p>The limited-edition vinyl pressing of the band&#x27;s debut album has <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/music/2026/8/5/teeth-thanks-fans-as-debut-album-vinyl-sells-out-in-one-day-1604">officially sold out within a day of its release</a>, according to Backspacer Records. It was remastered by award-winning mastering engineer Shinji Tanaka.</p><p>Bass player Pedz Narvaja said the band was “sobrang excited” and “overwhelmed” by the response.</p><p>“It’s a good feeling for the band,” Narvaja said.</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px;display:block"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1786416458829Teeth.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">OPM band Teeth. <em>Handout</em></span></span></span></div><div><strong>Secret to longevity: Friendship</strong></div><p>Being together for over three decades is a victory in itself for the band. But what actually keeps them together as a group?</p><p>According to Jacinto, the band’s foundation is the friendship they have shared since they were young.</p><p>&quot;I think the No. 1 secret kung bakit kami okay is we&#x27;re schoolmates in Manresa School from kindergarten hanggang high school. We grew up with everybody around. So mayroong base -- friendship. And, schoolmates, neighbors ganoon. So nakatulong siya sa longevity for sure, hindi ba? Kasi kapag kapag grade school friends mo ay parang close kayo for life. &#x27;Yun ang secret for me, I guess sa lahat din,&quot; Jacinto said.</p><p>&quot;Aside from being lifelong friends, basically mayroon kaming bond, mayroon kaming unspoken chemistry. Ang chemistry namin ay kakaiba. Because I have different bands, every band is unique pero &#x27;yung Teeth masasabi kong mayroong magic na hindi ko ma-explain. Like &#x27;yung question mo after three decades bakit kami nag-i-stick (together)? Kasi every time we jam as if parang kahapon lang kami huling nagkita, parang ganoon &#x27;yung chemistry namin as a group,&quot; drummer Mike Dizon said.</p><p>Guitarist Dok Sergio said that aside from knowing each other inside out, their bonding through music keeps them united.</p><p>&quot;I really don&#x27;t think about it. Time just passed and we remained friends, thankfully. Siguro the reason kasi kabisado na namin ang isa&#x27;t isa. Jerome Velasco (guitars) and I we still remain bandmates sa Daydream Cycle, Pupil and Mongols. And also Pedz, we always jam even though walang tugtog, walang banda, pupunta lang, noong pandemic. I can&#x27;t explain it. Pero &#x27;yung mga work na ginawa namin noong teenager up to mga 50s na kami is still relevant and people rediscover the music and they go to the shows, they buy the record. It&#x27;s great I am thankful for that. As time passes by parang its get better and better. Excited ako just grateful,&quot; Jacinto said.</p><p>Narvaja added: &quot;Actually kapag tinutugtog ang songs lalo na kapag nakikita naming nag-e-enjoy ang mga tao ay kinikilig pa rin ako. Ang tagal na ng mga songs na ito tapos pinapakinggan pa rin nila, kinakanta pa rin  nila hanggang ngayon very special on my part.&quot;</p><p>Velasco said that a lot of opportunities happened because of &quot;Laklak.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Our band made it to parang mainstream. Nagkaroon ng maraming opportunities for me -- have a career in music recording, producing and playing with other artists as well. So very thankful. Parang itong reunion na ito ay parang cumulative na pasasalamat,&quot;  he said. </p><p>Dizon, the composer of &quot;Laklak,&quot; described that it was the &quot;happiest accident&quot; that made their band what is today.</p><p>&quot;I think &#x27;yung nag-open for Teeth ng lahat is the happiest accident na nangyari sa band. Kasi &#x27;Laklak&#x27; isn&#x27;t supposed to be our single pero by mistake nangyari siya and we are all very grateful na nangyari. Ito &#x27;yung sinasabi na things happen for a reason. So ito talaga &#x27;yung luck namin sa &#x27;Laklak,&#x27;&quot; Dizon said, recalling how a radio station played &quot;Laklak&quot; instead of an English song they prepared. </p><p>Dizon recalled that the inspiration in writing the song was from his grandmother who reminded him about drinking alcohol.</p><p>&quot;Sobrang totoo sa akin ang song na &#x27;yan. Naalala ko literally &#x27;yung lola ko as in &#x27;yung face niya, kung paano niya nire-remind o paano niya sinabi na &#x27;oh Michael umiinom na ka na daw pala ng cerveza, sabi ng daddy mo&#x27; para ganoon. So pinagsabihan niya ako. Bumabalik,&quot; Dizon shared.</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1786416551030Teeth2.jpg" style="width:655px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>5-city concert tour</strong></div><p>Teeth will be reunited once again for a five-city concert tour celebrating their over three decades of friendship, music legacy, and rock n’ roll.</p><p>Dubbed &quot;Year 33: TEETH The Reunion – Legacy Tour,&quot; the concert series will kick off on August 30 at the Foochow Event Building Hall in Singapore. </p><p>It will be followed by its Philippine stops in Manila on September 5 and in Davao on September 12. The band will also perform in Iloilo on September 19 and Cebu on September 26.</p><p>Dizon said their upcoming concert will be totally different from their previous shows in terms of venues and the songs they will perform.</p><p>&quot;Of course sobrang excited it&#x27;s going to be different from what we did last time. Kasi &#x27;yung rounds namin last time, it&#x27;s bar partying. &#x27;Yung preparation namin is bigger kasi longer sets, may mga deep cuts. Of course iba talaga &#x27;yung big show.
