Melai Cantiveros releases new song ‘Kuan!’: ‘Maki-indak at maki-kuan’

<p>Melai Cantiveros brought her signature humor and Bisaya pride to music with the release of her new single “Kuan!” on August 21.</p><p>The track was accompanied by an official music video, which sees Melai taking on a variety of characters inspired by everyday Filipino life.</p><p>Throughout the video, the host and comedienne transforms into different personalities, including a mother, a student, a jeepney driver, and a sari-sari store owner. The different scenarios highlight the many ways the word “kuan” can naturally find its way into everyday conversations.</p><p>“Kuan” is a commonly used Bisaya placeholder word for something a speaker cannot immediately name or specify, similar to saying “you know” or simply “that thing.”</p><p>Fans online were quick to react to Melai’s latest release.</p><p>“The Multimedia Comedy Kuantie! Pak!
