<p>Ylona Garcia opened up about how her approach to songwriting has evolved through the years.</p><p>In an interview with <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong></a>, the singer shared that when she was younger, she focused more on creating songs that simply sounded good and would appeal to listeners.</p><p>&quot;Before, my process was really about what sounded good. Iyon na &#39;yun. Whatever sounded good, whatever people think sounds good, that&#39;s all that matters to me,&quot; she recounted.</p><p>&quot;Ngayon, I really try to center it and ground it in God. I always ask the question, &#39;Is this the type of lyrics that You want me to be able to put into the world?&#39; I always ground it in that,&rdquo; she explained.</p><p>She added that she has also learned to give her music more time and space to develop naturally. &quot;I always try to make sure that the music has its space and time to breathe. Before kasi, again, I was a little more impatient. I was in the mode of, okay, this is going to be a hit. This has to be a hit. Okay, is this good? Does this sound good? Will these people like it? I was very impatient.
