<div><em>[Editor’s note: This story, first published on May 18, 2018 and updated today, is brought to you from our Star Cinema Archives.]       </em></div><div><br/></div><div> </div><p>Maja Salvador, who is celebrating her birthday on October 5, has a knack for playing beautiful and memorable characters, but one of her most underrated roles is that of Trisha from the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/films" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">hit classic</a> &quot;One More Chance&quot;.   </p><p>But who can blame us, right? It&#x27;s easy for Trisha to get lost in the whirlwind of Popoy (<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/films/2025/9/18/-dubai-20th-anniversary-revisit-aga-claudine-john-lloyd-s-love-and-heartbreak-1452" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">John Lloyd Cruz</a>) and Basha&#x27;s (Bea Alonzo) relationship. It&#x27;s also easy to make her out as the villain, the girl in between two people who are meant to be together. But maybe it&#x27;s about time such a view changed.  </p><p>Trisha, with her short-before-short-was-cool hair, can be argued as one of the strongest, three-dimensional characters we&#x27;ve ever seen in local cinema. She’s tough yet vulnerable, strong-willed yet mushy, and if we&#x27;re being honest, we&#x27;ve all been her before. A perfect partner who was, unfortunately, not “the one.” </p><div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1759133082522Maja Salvador One More Chance.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>So, in honor of strong women everywhere who have yet to find the Popoy to their Basha, here are six memorable moments from &quot;One More Chance&quot; where Trisha proved that while love might be a losing game, it is still worth the chance. </p><div> </div><div><strong>1. And she slaps him right across the face and walks away.  </p><p>However, she didn&#x27;t hold that faux pas against him. Instead, she sees the good in a broken man and helps put him back on his feet. </p><div> </div><div><strong>2. In a scene where she&#x27;s buying a new guitar, we see her outrightly refusing Popoy&#x27;s offer to pick up the check. She stands her ground and reminds him that what&#x27;s hers is hers, and what&#x27;s his is his. </p><div> </div><div><strong>3. And if that&#x27;s not admirable, then what is? </p><div> </div><div><strong>4. She signed off on picking up Basha and driving her home after an unfortunate car breakdown left her stranded in the rain. She showed compassion and understanding to somebody who still has feelings for her man (and we love her for it).  </p><div> </div><div><strong>5. She takes care of him: of his heart and his health, and selflessly gives him her unwavering love. One of the biggest clues to this fact is when she wrote Popoy a song for their first anniversary. </p><div> </div><div><strong>6. She tells her boyfriend, &quot;Walang madaling paraan para gawin &#x27;to, kasi ang sakit na. Sabihin mo na lang, please.&quot;</p><p>Again, we see her strong sense of self-worth come into play.
