Screenshot from video on Astro’s YouTube channel</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Several K-pop stars, led by the boy band Astro, released Saturday a song in honor of the late idol Moonbin, commemorating the second anniversary of his passing.</p><p>Moonbin, who was also a member of Astro, <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/04/20/23/k-pop-singer-moonbin-of-astro-passes-away">was found dead</a> in his home in Seoul on April 19, 2023. He was 25.</p><p>Two years later, his bandmates—MJ, Jinjin, Cha Eunwoo and Sanha—and close friends in the industry put out the tribute song “Moon.”</p><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UUFJlUy5aA4??si=P2P7plTP73vULuxX&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><p>The track also features former Astro member Rocky and Moonbin’s younger sister, Moon Sua of the girl group Billlie. </p><p>It includes contributions from the female trio VIVIZ; MONSTA X’s Minhyuk, Kihyun, and I.M; SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, DK and Seungkwan; soloist Hello Gloom; former Weki Meki members Choi Yoojung and Kim Doyeon; SF9’s Chani; and Stray Kids leader Bang Chan.</p><p>In 2024, SEVENTEEN member Woozi—known for co-composing many of his group’s songs—dropped “What Kind of Future” on Moonbin&#x27;s birthday, inspired by the late singer&#x27;s fondness for the previously unreleased track.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/01/26/24/seventeens-woozi-drops-single-for-late-k-pop-star-moonbin">SEVENTEEN&#x27;s Woozi drops &#x27;What Kind of Future&#x27; for late K-pop star Moonbin</a></div><p>Moonbin started his career as a child model and actor before debuting with Astro in 2016. In 2020, he also became part of the sub-unit Moonbin &amp; Sanha.</p><p>Meanwhile, Astro is preparing for a concert with former member Rocky, though the date has yet to be announced.</p>
