<p style="text-align:justify">Nar Cabico’s composition, “Cheri(e),” is about celebrating one’s identity and uniqueness, which speaks volumes about Filipinos as it seeks to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest Asia as one of the contenders for the “Philippine Selection Night” grand musical event happening this Sunday (Aug. 30).  </p><div><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LcvtkXN_QI8?si=1gEixhk4OCkRxJ0r" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p style="text-align:justify">“This song was commissioned by Ms. Cherie Gil herself way back in 2017,” Nar shared, recalling how the late actress told him about her frustration with her name being pronounced the wrong way.</p><p style="text-align:justify">“I realized that it also means love in French. It’s also a term of endearment,” Nar added.</p><p style="text-align:justify">Nar also perfomed the song together with Elha Nympha, Esang de Torres, and Lance Reblando, who gamely accepted the challenge to give life to the song of affirmation.</p><p style="text-align:justify">“Kailangan naming ipakita kung ano yung kayang ibigay ng Pilipino,” shared Elha.</p><p style="text-align:justify">“Cheri(e)” is one of the 10 tracks included in the “Pili, Pinas!: Philippine Selection Night” compilation, now available on various music streaming platforms.
